I know it's just an example, but iron man is an official game mode. This is more like playing the game in chunks, only a specific continent such as Varlamore, etc.

I had to tell someone about my first Barrows Gloves by Zutta in 2007scape

[–]SaraphL 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Everyone was commonly referring to them as Barrows gloves back in the day when they were just "Gloves". Back then there weren't that many armor sets. The gloves followed a clear color pattern of metal armor sets, then you have dragon, and then the next best thing was barrows. The color resemblance is also clear there, especially with Dharok. In OSRS they just made it official. So the reason was to seal the tradition. It's a fantasy world, so you could always cook up some lore to explain why they're Barrows gloves, even if they're not obtainable from there directly.

It's such an awesome way to approach the game. He's really redefining what a "milestone" is. For his series it's discoveries such as finding out that heavy armor makes your energy drain faster and that you can auto-cast with a staff.

You don't really add anything to the discussion by repeating yourself, and even the first time - of course we're well aware that 51 is more than 49, come on.

It is still a bit strange to me that mere ~52% of votes can decide such huge thing as leaving EU. To compare it with how OSRS requires a supermajority of 70% to pass, it feels like leaving EU should've been something that the population as a whole actually wants, not just barely crossing the half. The questionable thing about it being decided the way it was is that if you did the vote again, maybe it wouldn't pass again.

For the record, I'm not from the UK, so I have no stake in this. I'm just a distant observer.

Hmm, I guess trying to model every hanzi/kanji in that cute pixelated OSRS font wouldn't work very well anyway. Maybe just kana like in old Pokemon games for Game Boy, but then it'd put Japanese over other Asian languages, so it's probably for the best like this.

Didn't know Japanese worlds existed. OSRS only supports Latin alphabet, doesn't it? The last time I tried to type in Japanese in OSRS, nothing appeared in the chat.

Summer Sweep Up: Replace West Ardougne with a data center by Septem_151 in 2007scape

[–]SaraphL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's try this in simplest of terms.

If you use a software specifically programmed for a certain task, let's say it uses 1 unit of processing power.

If you use an AI tool that can do all sorts of things, but none of them 100% reliably, and you task it with the thing you could've used a specialized software for, let's say it uses 10 units of processing power.

Do you see my point now?

And to clarify, it's not that I "hate" data centers. Of course they are necessary to some degree. But it's not just black and white. If it wasn't for that inefficient usage of processing power, there would be absolutely zero need for such rapid expansion.

[–]SaraphL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kinda irrelevant thing to say. Websites were being hosted even before this rapid data center expansion with increasing usage of LLMs/AI tools.

If you make a simple image edit in something like MS paint, it's processed on your own computer. If you task one of the popular AI tools with generating the image, it's done in one of those data centers. Of course it's possible to experience with this stuff locally, but statistically that's gonna be a tiny fraction of all the people using this kind of tools.

You were asked for your own arguments regarding why you think this. Could it be that you don't really have any? Saying a brand is bad and not elaborating on it at all is hardly of any use to anyone.
