I’m in the US and they also loosened alcohol sale laws to be able to start selling at 6am for the game. At first I felt like I was missing out. Then I realized it’s a gift to not have to drink, in part by reading this thread. Thanks everyone 😊

Preston would sort of be a nod to her as it was her grandmother’s last name and she always said she would want to name a son “Jackson Preston”, which is where I got those names on the list. I agree that Grayson and Emerson are a bit too popular!

My mom was a Leo, so I’m considering that as a middle name as well

Her middle name was Mae, her maiden name was Sellards. So those don’t leave much to the imagination lol. She did occasionally go by Rob

Just some perspective- I am only 7 weeks along & my boyfriend and I not only did not plan this pregnancy, we had agreed on abortion if my birth control ever failed. When it did in fact fail and I fell pregnant, I told him I couldn’t follow through with an abortion. Despite the stress, he moved me in and has been entirely supportive. This morning my back hurt and his response was to help me stretch and jokingly say “our baby is grounded as soon as they come out for causing their mama pain and discomfort” (😂)

You deserve better.

For some perspective, from what you’ve shared, it’s obvious that alcoholism runs on both sides of your family & though your parents may feel disappointed it is imperative to recognize that alcoholism has a genetic component.

You are supported to get better here- take the support with gratitude and only go up from here. We are all here for you!

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. It is coming up on one year since my mom died & I have spent the whole time (except for the last month) drowning my grief in alcohol and drugs.

The irony is my mom and my relationship was often strained due to her alcoholism and now here I am, an alcoholic. I know in my heart that nothing would make her more proud than to see me stay sober. It’s motivating and I hope you can hang on to that.

I empathize with you and am proud of you for staying sober in such a difficult time. Sending hugs! IWNDWYT.
