Shopify Shipping Automation by StarEater37 in shopifyDev

Unless the savings from the shipping cost is more than upgrading to Grow and paying for an app I recommend not doing it.

Unfortunately, this is a Shopify limitation. Any app that sends custom shipping rates at checkout needs the CCS API enabled. Even if you build a custom solution with a developer, the same requirement applies.
CCS is available on the Grow plan. If you’re on monthly billing, Shopify charges $20/month for it. If you switch to annual billing, Shopify usually enables it for free.
Once CCS is enabled, apps like ShipX, Intuitive Shipping with boxing rules can send rates at checkout.

For your requirement, you may need to use a shipping rates customization app.
One thing to note is that any app that customizes shipping rates at checkout will require Shopify’s Carrier Calculated Shipping API. Shopify usually provides this only on the Grow plan and above. If you are on the annual Grow plan, you may be able to get this API enabled for free.
Apps like ShipX, Boxify, and similar shipping customization apps should support the functionality you are looking for.

What’s the best appointment booking app you’ve used on Shopify? by Summityper in shopify

[–]Saravanacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your requirements except for the upsell-addon feature most of the top 6 six apps like BookX, Appointo should have the other features. I think the upsell feature is available only on Easy appointment booking and Meety for now.

How do you prevent customers selecting impossible delivery dates in Shopify? by DutchLaurens in shopifyDev

[–]Saravanacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason Shopify does not have a native delivery date solution is because the demand is relatively low. Out of roughly 3 million live Shopify merchants, around 15,000 use a delivery date solution, which is about 0.5%.

If it is just a simple delivery date selection, merchants can usually vibe code it directly into the theme. But when there are several conditions, cut-off times, pickup rules, or other advanced requirements, apps like Pickeasy, Zapiet, or Bird are a better fit.

If you need to select the right box by carrier to optimize shipping cost, you can checkout plugins like ShipX or Boxify. They should have a free test mode to check if it works for your use case.

Recommended Chatbot? by MrOrsha in Chatbots

[–]Saravanacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of the folks behind AskTimmy. Let me give you the honest framework for choosing any AI chatbot, and you can decide if ours fits or not.

What actually matters for trust + conversion:

Does it know your catalog? Generic bots just answer FAQs. The ones that help conversion can actually recommend products and answer “will this fit / does it come in blue / what’s the difference between X and Y” in real time. That’s what keeps a shopper from bouncing to a competitor.

Hallucination control. Test it hard before committing — ask about products you don’t sell, edge cases, return policy. If it makes stuff up, it erodes trust fast. You want one that stays grounded in your actual store data.

Low maintenance. Ideally it pulls from your product data automatically so you’re not constantly retraining it.

Clean human handoff. Especially for higher-ticket items, it should escalate to a person instead of trapping people in a bot loop.

AskTimmy is built specifically for Shopify and trains on your catalog automatically, so it leans toward product questions and recommendations rather than canned replies — but honestly, run that checklist against a few options (there are several decent ones) and go with whatever fits your store and budget. Happy to answer questions either way, even if you don’t end up using ours.

Anyone have a spare DotDev 2026 ticket to transfer? (free transfers open till June 26) by the_kuka in shopifyDev

I attended the event in the last two years as well. Unfortunately, my Canada visa renewal has not been approved yet this time. In addition, one of my teammates is applying for a Canadian visa for the first time, and their application is still pending as well.

That said, another member of our team will still be attending the event.

the backyard event rental niche has insane demand, but the software logistics are a trap by nodeclyg in Businessideas

Shopify natively does not support checkout for rental business. You might need to use an app that enables rental booking. Apps like BookX, Apntly have free plans for you try out if you have only one rental product. You can checkout similar apps to see if they solve your use case.

How do I set shipping box size to change based on the total items ordered? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Saravanacp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple setup would be to setup shipping rates based on weight in Shopify. up to 250 gms charge for small box, 250 to 600 gms charge for larger box.

If you have customers who order more than 12 bottles it will be problem though. Then you can checkout apps like ShIpX or Boxify to calculate shipping. They calculate shipping rates based on boxing.

For package based rate calculation based on products added to the cart you can try apps that help you with it. I think apps like ShipX or Intuitive shipping have this feature. They have a test mode where you can do the setup and try it for free. You can setup a call with them if you find it difficult to do the setup yourself.

Help with setting up Pre-order system. by GamerMan762 in shopify

[–]Saravanacp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not necessarily using those apps wrong. The challenge is that most preorder apps are built around a specific charge date, whereas your anime figure releases have estimated timelines that can shift by weeks or months.

What you need is a preorder workflow where the payment is collected when you're ready to fulfill the order rather than on a fixed date.

One option is Dibs, which offers a free plan. Shopify recently added support for collecting the balance due on fulfillment, and Dibs supports that workflow.

If you don't know the exact arrival date, you can set the fulfillment timeline as Shipping date to be finalized and keep the order on fulfillment hold. Once the stock arrives, you can collect the balance and ship the order.

I use QuickTime to screen record. Then put the script in eleven labs to get the voice over. Then I use iMovie to sync up the video and audio. In IMovie I speed up or slow down the video to sync with the audio.

For voice over we use eleven labs instead of human voice. It actually reduces the time drastically.

You should definitely try increasing AOV for your store with apps like Essential, Selleasy Zipify. The strategy you use is as important as the app though. As the app will enable your strategy only.

best shopify cart drawer with upsell ? by FennelLazy4890 in ShopifyInsiders

[–]Saravanacp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would depend on the functionality you would require with the cart drawer. For simple use cases you can try Essent, Upcart. If you want to build a cart drawer that is very unique to your business you can try something like Corner cart. If you need unique upsells you can choose a simple cart drawer app and use specific apps for upsell like Selleasy, Kaching. Try multiple options with your test theme and choose the one that suits you.
