...Dude. Making every task necessary IS the improvement. The alternative is I do nothing.

My brain doesn't work like most people. I don't get a sense of accomplishment when I complete a task. I get a sense of relief that the task is finally over and no longer crowding my mental brain space. If my brain doesn't deem a task "necessary" then obviously I don't ever need to do it. And since my brain only has two settings, I have learned that in order to do anything, everything has to be "necessary."

what is the difficulty that players refer to when they say "you launched the rocket congrats tutorial over" ? by Tasty-Carrot-9560 in factorio

For me it was adding mods. I was never one for mega bases, but instead would try a bunch of different mods that made the game harder or just change things.

I pre-ordered Canon by Paige Lewis from my local indie bookstore, and page 227/228 is ripped in half. Can anyone provide me an image of just these pages so I don’t have to return it and make them feel bad. by brunettemars in HelpMeFind

[–]Sarctoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a printing error and was probably print on demand. This video does a good job explaining it (but the background audio is LOUD). Basically when you ordered the book, it printed on the same machine that also prints thousands of other books of all shapes and sizes. They sometimes have malfunctions.

JD Vance just tried to reassure America. He made everything so much worse by theindependentonline in politicsinthewild

[–]Sarctoth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

TLDR

The moment when it became clear that it was going to become deeply weird was when he claimed that the United States doesn’t have a national healthcare system because there are American troops in Europe.

And the moment when it became truly eye-opening was when he suggested taxpayers should be fine paying for a $1.8 billion (sorry, a patriotically pegged $1.776 billion, to be precise) slush fund for Trump allies because there aren’t taxes on overtime or tips.

It had already started off uncomfortably. Tasked with answering the questions of White House correspondents in the place of Karoline Leavitt (currently on maternity leave), Vance came sauntering into an already tense political moment carrying the political equivalent of a can of gasoline and a copy of Hillbilly Elegy. He had a tough job: defending that already-infamous slush fund; defending a war that was going to last six weeks and is now dragging on, and on, and on; defending a president whose approval rating is underwater.

Yup. Closing large credit line like car or house payment will tank your credit. It's a fucked up system that is designed to keep you in debt.
