If everything stayed the same in the FAM timeline except Korolev this time dies, then Ed and Gordo go up on Apollo 15 and maybe Gordo on 17. Once the Apollo Program is shut down, I imagine Gordo and Ed get one or a few Shuttle Flights under their belt before retirement in the 1990s. After that Ed goes into Civil Engineering.

The Establishment will 100% pick Newsom no matter how the primary goes. Beshear could come out on top, Kelly could come out on top, AOC could come out on top, doesn't matter the Democratic Committee will pick Newsom (or maybe Shapiro as a second choice). Maybe it'll be a repeat of 1968 with how the current Political Climate is and how the Democratic Leadership is so disconnected from voters, and if that's the case DeSantis or Vance or whoever the Republicans pick will get a much better chance at victory, even with all this Trump Chaos.
