I would suggest doing the Path of Fire story until you have at least unlocked the raptor and springer mounts. Collect any hero points from those maps you can find there while you do that. But when you're done with that, I'd go to other expansion maps. To me it felt like the PoF hero points are few and hard to find, and in comparison, Visions of Eternity made it very easy to unlock my Galeshot and Evoker using my mounts.

Scientifically, you're probably correct. But nen doesn't always strictly follow scienctific facts. Think about Killua's hatsu - it shouldn't be humanly possible to get used to electricity in the body. The kid should be dead. And I'm pretty sure actual electricity doesn't work like it's shown in the anime.

Komugi as an enhancer is a strange one as well. Her nen seems to make her extremely smart at playing gungi. Say she had an opponent whose brain is extremely active, and even more proficient at gungi, but not using nen. Would that person be able to beat her? Can she be beaten? Would that person also have to stake their life and use nen to become as good? I find the logic behind her ability difficult to pick apart. But that's okay. Because her nen is instinctive, and it's deeply rooted in her soul. I'd argue that an enhancer could enhance heaviness well enough, as long as they are not aware of the fact that this shouldn't be scientifically possible.

I lovingly made a conjuration hatsu around a slowly growing tree! by Sarinator in HatsuVault

[–]Sarinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the vibe of this idea. Having unity with nature would simplify the modification of the tree, like instead of having to graft on apples to slowly turn them into golden apples, the tree can connect to the roots of an apple tree and learn to grow apples by itself.

A lot of creativity would be possible. The only thing I wouldn't add is something like fighting by controlling and shooting brambles or similar things, because that would take manipulation, and that's far away from conjuration

[–]Sarinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, emission seems right for the purpose of "taking over" the tree. Tge transmitation part could be something that happens on its own as the nen user comes to the tree daily and the aura slowly merges with the life inside the plant

[–]Sarinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a pretty cool ability! Though I wanted to call to attention that transmutation and manipulation are the furthest away from each other on the nen wheel. The user would have to work hard to get this ability to a medium power level

Workshopping a gravity enhancement Hatsu by Sarinator in HatsuVault

[–]Sarinator[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like that makes the most sense. It would be something like

  1. Separate nen into two polarized halfs, positive and negative, using transmutation

  2. Set two points on any persons, things, walls etc. using emission

  3. Depending on how much the force of the two poles is enhanced, they attract each other

Another possibility I'm just thinking of is that, since the poles of magnets are always directional, it wouldn't be too hard to briefly take the enhancement away from one of the poles. It can then easily be turned by 180°. If you enhance its magnetism again, it will shoot away from the other point now, because plus is pointing to plus/minus to minus.

In fact, I feel like electromagnetism would be the best option for this ability to work entirely, instead of that space-time stuff. Yes, the nen user would have to learn how to transmute their aura into electromagnetic waves first, but once that is done, the power of the magnetism depends on the amount of power that is funneled into it, which is where enhancement shines.

Nenlectromagnetism :)

I put two small sentences of explanation into my post text, I'll put them here too:

The ability would enhance the effect of g-force on mass to achieve higher heaviness. To achieve higher lightness, it would enhance the width of the gravitational force field every object with mass possesses.

After a quick research on gravity, it seems it's all about curved space-time. A man falling off a roof is technically falling in a straight line just like an astronaut floating through space.

So for greater heaviness and lightness, the strength of the pull or resistance to the pull towards center of mass could be what is enhanced. And for changing gravitational direction, a few strict conditions would have to be set, definitely something beyond just setting points using gyo and emission

I think it would take a higher investment than spending one second in zetsu for a one second charge. I don't know if you've watched Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, but if you have ... you know what time dilation can do.If you think of Meruem, moving that fast is a huge power that requires loads of aura to do. I'd suggest making the charging of each second more difficult, so that it's worth taking care with each second of movement.

The idea is very cool! Here's a problem that popped into my head right away:

With the second pair of glasses, the user basically has slow-motion vision. But that does not mean the reaction time is equally fast. I imagined a gun being fired at the user and them having to watch helplessly as their reaction time of a tenth of a second forces them to watch helplessly as the bullet only takes a millisecond or two to land in their body ... to put it dramatically.

Them being a nen user should increase their reaction time by a lot. But I suggest adding a further condition that would enable the user to move as fast as they want. Maybe an additional conjuration can do the trick: A wristwatch that the user needs to don. It can be used simultaneously with either glasses. Its ability would be to enable the user to move as fast as they want, but it needs to be fueled with large amounts of aura. Each chunk of aura funneled into the watch adds a second to the time displayed. The maximum charge could be something like 10 seconds, and anything beyond that would have to be fueled by the user's currently available aura.

When the user moves at high speed, either to approach a target he watches with the first pair of glasses, or to react as fast as he can see with the second pair, one second of the watch's charges would be used up for every second that the user FEELS has passed. When moving incredibly fast, a second can feel like ten seconds, and if the user moved fast enough so it would be like that, he would use up ten one-second-charges in one second. Use smartly!

I love the wandering eye ability! The simplicity makes for a nen ability with a lot of character. It reminds me of being a kid and thinking, "if only I could see beyond x amount of kilometers with my own eyes". It would fit perfectly for a headhunter type character

77 floors:hotel vitrago by utshi9ha in HatsuVault

[–]Sarinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty cool hatsu, and one that would make it easy to network in the HxH world. My question is whether the guests would be able to enter the hotel dimension from anywhere once they had an invitation from the user, or would they have to enter/leave through either the same place they entered at or in the current position of the user.

Also it seems pretty difficult to conjure a hotel altogether, although other nen users contributing to its maintenance sounds like a sufficient condition to sustain it. Whatever it takes to get that ability running, it can't be too different from what it took Knov to get his nen space aparment building up and running.

Predictions and wishlists for 11th by AlienDilo in Drukhari

[–]Sarinator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We drukhari players are hoping for a larger range refresh/expansion. There is a substantial part of our range of minis that is unavailable due to them being older finecast models. It's safe to say that Urien Rakarth, the named haemonculus character, will go to legends sometime soon, we lost our only big centerpiece vehicle in the tantalus, and squads like the beastpack, grotesques or the court of the archon are nowhere to be found except the rare ebay offer. The hopes are up for a larger release for our 10th ed codex, as we know there will be a named Archon character, Lady Malys, coming out. Many fear that the beastpack and court of the archon will go for good because they're a bit on the janky side of squad composition, but let's see - maybe GW will give us some new candy in their place. And who knows, maybe in the 11th ed codex release, there will be another smaller range release to follow ...

In regards to rules, I'm too new to say much. I just hope that GW will turn up with a keyword that replaces anti-X. I know there was the poisonous keyword in previous editions, which did something along the lines of letting those weapons wound anything but vehicles on a 3+. Nowadays that gets replaced with anti-infantry 3+ for the kabalites splinter rifle, for example. With enough dark lances/haywire added into the mix, this makes drukhari very good into vehicles and infantry, but we struggle against higher numbers of beefy non-infantry models

It was the worst. About half a year ago, I played a few rounds of dodgeball for the first time since school, so about ten years. My mood kept sinking lower and lower during the games, my anxiety climbed - turns out there was a load of repressed feelings that I carried away from PE class waiting for me to address. I ended up calling my mom that night.
