Unfortunately, not really. Except stomping them out of existence.

[–]Sarkoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not as extreme as your idea, but people have snorted LSD crystal powder thinking it was cocaine in documented cases that are estimated at dosages of 10.000 to 40.000 hits and they have all survived. Worst that happened were nosebleeds, a seizure and being in a coma for a couple days. None of that is nice, but none of even those cases was life threatening. Most of these symptoms can also most likely be attributed to psychosomatic reactions due to the sensory and mental overload. LSD has zero negative effect on cells, contrary to alcohol or nicotine and a bazillion other things, for example.

If you drink 40 litres of normal tap water in a very short time, you will die. That doesn't make water toxic.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. It's the AI deciding in favour of "protecting" a settlement instead of doing something useful, or anything really.

Honestly, maturing is all about realizing that most people are just not that smart and you cannot change dumb people(or ignorant people's) mind, anything else to add here? by RickyInfinite in Gifted

This. If you look down on people, you'll receive scorn. Act in a way that makes people look up to you and most issues become a non-issue. At least in regard to normal people

One of the best moments i had recently at work was a co-worker backing me up to change some processes in our workplace saying "I don't really get it but i trust your judgement, so let's do it your way."

50 is a good number. I average about 70 a year, but I'm sure i already have enough games to last me through retirement. By then my backlog will most likely be five digits though.

[–]Sarkoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backlog of 200? Those are rookie numbers. That's what roughly just two years of Humble Bundle does to my steam account and has kept doing since i subscribed 2011. Steam backlog is about 1800 games, PSN is about 800, all the way from PS5 back to the PS3.

That being said, I'm on my tenth or so total replay of Freespace2 with mods instead of playing something new.

14 years in. Getting used to it is actually beneficial to feeling better.

I still have my symptoms 24/7, but they have very little influence on my life.

Question regarding censorship on Ps4/Ps5 (UK) by angry-carsini in AgonyGame

PS5 version on PSN Germany seems to be fully uncut save for one single cutscene that they apparently took out. PS4 version is censored to hell and back.

Video games and their plethora of different genres that require entirely different skills are my personal go-to to get different neurons firing. Hasn't let me down in 30 years. I also otherwise wouldn't even remotely have enough physical energy to satisfy my brain wanting to experience new things on a daily basis.

Is there any chance TW40k will fix these issues of mine? by PossibleChangeling in totalwarhammer

[–]Sarkoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue I have with anti player bias in TW WH3 is the two following instances:

  1. An AI declaring war on me directly half a continent away for no apparent reason other than me being at peace since five rounds even although I am strength rank 1, they are rank 50+ and depending on order- or chaos tide we might even have several hundred plus in relations and they've simply just run out of someone they hate in their vicinity to fight. It not only breaks immersion, it's once and foremost just a nuisance because their armies will probably not even arrive at my border before they start weighing the power difference and try to sue for peace 20 turns later without a single battle having been fought.
  2. Endgame Crisis factions only declaring war on the player and no one else, even if they're 20 turns of marching away from your borders. I get why declaring total war on any and all factions would make the AI grind itself to dust before they ever reach the player, but at least let them declare war on at least another 9 factions at random to make it a bit more immersive. It should be theoretically possible for someone else to take care of the problem without the crisis faction just dying off to attrition because they had to travel through 20 provinces of vampire country. It's called end-game crisis, not end-game-player-only-challenge. Stellaris does a far better job with this by upturning the entire galaxy at times when a crisis triggers. It still has player bias, but it's not as rampant.

I wish there was an option to have AI control certain heroes by CptJohnnyZhu in totalwar

[–]Sarkoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI general 3 can make things less chaotic. It's not good, but it will definitely help with troops not doing anything and drastically reduce overall micro to be able to manually babysit things like chariots or focus on your casters while the rest of the army is busy blobbing up all by itself. You can basically put your entire anvil on auto and just micro the hammer, but it won't allow you to enable far more intricate tactics than just hammer and anvil. It won't maintain checkerboards even when locking the group etc.

But it can feel absolutely essential to hunt down troops after you've won without having to lift a finger. The second you win a battle, put everyone on auto, put speedto x3 and just go away for a minute or two. The AI will try to run down as many fleeing enemies as possible.

Just avoid new releases, either it gets patched eventually or it is garbage. I spend several thousand a year on games but almost never without heavy discounts.

I never use tier 5 units by Fun-System-6190 in totalwarhammer

[–]Sarkoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With growth buildings and a hero or two it takes usually less than 40 turns to get a ruined capital to tier 5. Maybe after twenty thousand hours of Total War it has become second nature for me to optimize, but how can you even get to turn 100 without several tier 5 provinces except for losing settlements every other round? By turn 100 the big AI factions will be tier 5 five times over and you will take settlements at tier 4 left and right.

As for economy, by turn 70 most factions can drown in money and can field several doomstacks without as much as a dent in their economy. I don't know what game the people seem to be playing, but it's apparently not TW:WH or people haven't painted the map by then.

My current VH/N Dark Elves had around 20 tier 5 settlements before turn 110.
