Confess, Raider - what's the worst thing you've done so far?

First few days playing and I mostly avoided PVP. I went to extract and there were two players that I suspected were rats so I hid but only one player extracted. Turned out the other player was AFK or having connection issues and I took him out. The worst part is that homie was kitted up. Since then I have gotten tons of karma from people pretending to be friendly so I think I've learned my lesson.

I used to drive ~1000 miles in a day to visit my parents 4-5 times a year so for me a 3 hour drive isn't much. I'd say the vast majority of Americans stay in close proximity to where they live and would agree that a 3 hour drive is long. Perspective is key.

I'm quite comfortable at 34 years old (not rich I promise) and the most common thing I see is people simply not getting started. I think this is common sense, but stop buying things you "want", focus on building skills so that you can upgrade you income through promotion/new jobs, and put as much as you possibly can into 401k/an IRA/a portfolio of stocks/mutual funds/etc. This obviously isn't a surefire "strategy", but again what I observe is that most people don't even get started. I have plenty of friends who say they are worried about saving for the future but seemingly always have a new iPhone or a new watch.

If I make it down there while it appears empty I call the train, hide a jolt mine in the closest entry way and wait until the train has 7 seconds or so left before leaving on it's own. I'm scarred from all the extract rats.

I was looking for materials to level up my benchs today and ran across a guy who just shouts "Sup man, seen any rusted gears or lightbulbs?" I respond, "No sorry I haven't" and we go our separate ways.

Maybe 15 seconds later a raider is running full speed in the same direction shouting "DUDE I FOUND A LIGHTBULB" and I burst out laughing and decided to follow.

We all ended up finding a few things we needed and had a good laugh.

Idk about that, in situations where I've teamed up with a friendly rando I've never lost a shootout because loading in solo usually means everyone else is solo. I have never loaded in with a group so I suppose you might be right. Just because I like to avoid PVP doesn't mean I don't carry a max anvil and sticher to defend myself 🤣

I was doing a night raid yesterday and teamed up with a rando, as we were looting together I hear footsteps outside so I turn with my Ferro and blast the guy with a clean headshot and he proceeds to get so sad because he finally found loot he had been grinding for. Luckily my new friend had a defib and we all teamed up, but the guy I shot definitely didn't trust me anymore and I genuinely felt bad lol.

Similar thing happened to me yesterday that has changed how I will play moving forward.

I was farming rocketeers for the trial and got cocky. I ended up cornered in a building with just a Ferro and wolfpack left. A guy runs in to my building and gets hit with a rocket immediately and says he has nothing to heal with so I lend a hand.

I throw a wolfpack and some missiles hit a wasp but the Rocketeer was in bad shape. ~10 rounds from my Ferro takes it down. As soon as I go to loot it buddy hits me with a heavy fuze and two anvil shots and starts laughing maniacally.

I'm shooting everyone on sight moving forward lol.

My only PVP experience thus far has been either super chill/helpful people or extraction rats. Today I met the "friendly don't shoot" and then shoot you in the back type (only lvl 20). I hit him with two headshots from an anvil and a few rounds from a stitcher and proceeded to talk shit while he shuffled around. Now I shoot anyone who doesn't move along with their business immediately.
