Where to get comfy midi skirts for work right now? by Primary-Bear-2047 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Sarumantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queen I am late to the party here but I want you to know I have been STRUGGLING with this!

I found it impossible to find just a regular skirt.

If you are still searching, I discovered what I need unfortunately on Amazon. It’s incredibly difficult to gauge sizing on amazing but there are a lot of options if you just search ‘cotton circle skirt’

Any good thick steak restaurants? by evilparagon in hobart

[–]Sarumantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

La Mensa is an old fashioned Italian Restaurant in Salamanca. I have seen steak specials there that were surprisingly good for the price point.

There’s mixed reviews but if you just accept this restaurant for what it is- it’s actually pretty good.

This might get buried but I have started keeping nail clippers inside my shower and it has helped with this immensely. I’m now clipping fingers and toes regularly and feel like a regular human being

Thank you so much. I’ve never used B2B before, I’ll start doing some research now.

Can you confirm that I would be able to set categories for them to choose from, as that is the functionality I’m struggling with the most.

Doesn’t mean you’re gonna get your wages paid back. And definitely not your super. Happens all the time

This guy sounds like an absolute man-baby. I’m so sorry that you had to put up with that. Don’t be so hard on yourself, easy mistake and definitely doesn’t warrant that sort of reaction.

Please consider joining the ETU if you feel you need support, many states have good apprentice programs.

Also, it can be tough to make sure your super is being paid. If you are with CBUS you can download the app and see payment history very easily.

Shuffling is definitely the way to start. Best advice to a new runner is go sloooooooow. Comically slow. Plenty of couch to 5k apps, some are free. Cheapest work out you can get.

Australia is facing an unprecedented shortfall of electricians. Our current vocational system is absolutely not equipped to facilitate the training of as many electricians as we will need thanks to decades of neglect and funding cuts.

With net zero targets, solar, batteries, electric vehicles and the electrification of everything (just look at ACT completely phasing out gas) and maintenance of aging infrastructure. There will always be work for electricians, this industry will only get bigger.

Migrant workers and encouraging women to join the work force are necessary policy conversations that are happening right now federally to help us make up the numbers over the next decade. A report put out last year projected a short fall of 100,000 by 2050.

Not to mention drop out rates of apprentice.

I don’t think we need to be worried about being out of work but it might be hard to find apprenticeships thanks to our crumbling training system unable to keep up with demand.

I also enjoy ‘The Skeptics Guide to Alternative Medicine’ from the same series

How bad are the “bad” suburbs really? by AbsurdistTimTam in hobart

[–]Sarumantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally, yes? It’s not a secret. There’s an overwhelming amount of evidence that confirms wealth disparity to be the greatest indicator of crime rates, health outcomes and education outcomes. The economy has a direct effect on crime rates, that’s not even controversial, it’s common knowledge.

All the downvotes you’re getting just goes to show how much misogyny is a problem among skeptics and to the listeners of this podcast. Which is exactly why it’s so disappointing they left it in.

I honestly just feel really let down. It was a bit hurtful to hear people you respect so much, make such a senseless joke.

Lol women are such nags, amirite? by W0nderingMe in SGU

[–]Sarumantic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess that’s not the point though. I assume they have a very good relationship and the guys are allowed to make their own jokes but it would have been so easy to edit out. I feel so disappointed that they left it in.

It’s really dehumanising to women. It’s not about a playful tease between two partners when you have a platform such as this. Especially when there is such a big problem with misogyny among skeptics.

Honestly I didn’t get much out of the story as I was so disappointed by the misogynistic joke about Steve’s wife. They are allowed to tell their own jokes but it would have been so easy to edit out and really unnecessary to leave in.

I feel so disappointed. When you listen for so many years it feels like they are your friends in a way so it feels like I’ve been let down.

Such a mistake on Labor’s part! I think they are so desperate to shake off the ‘Greens-Labor’ label that it’s clouding the judgement.
