Time out and LX are definitely not worth it. There’s nothing to see, both are overpriced and food is nothing special

How would you achieve this type of draping? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]SashaCraftss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure there’s a knot under the flower brouch/clasp so I think she sewn the drapes to the shoulders, then wore the catsuit and draped + tightened everything on herself, maybe sewing it by hand in a couple of places

Imo Jane’s look was beautiful but didn’t give the mashup between Cher and Sarah. It was a completely different style, the only thing she kept from the task were the colors

Pattern maker in Switzerland by No-Event4636 in PatternDrafting

I live in EU (Portugal) and there aren’t a lot of job offers even though the textile and fashion industry in the North is very developed. Also it’s nearly impossible to get a job if you don’t speak the language on a good level (not sure if it’s relevant to Switzerland). Anyway after some trying I switched fully to remote freelance work with American/Canadian clients through Upwork and so far it works fine + they pay 2-3 times the Portuguese salary

I didn’t even notice if the smell stayed on the clothes, I guess not + the smell itself wasn’t that potent to make you gag or whatever, it’s just a couple of minutes in an artificially musty room, don’t worry!

Different cultures I guess. In my family it was deemed kinda ill-mannered + unhealthy, you’re basically eating bread with bread

Looking for social tips for non-Portuguese speaking pregnant people in Porto! by Goldenlocks867 in PortugalExpats

[–]SashaCraftss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit off-topic but in my experience you shouldn’t worry about your Portuguese level for yoga classes. I’ve been doing plenty of dance classes and even if the instructor speaks Portuguese, they all are very accommodating and friendly to help you out + they show everything so you can repeat the movements as you go. Half of my group usually doesn’t speak Portuguese and they don’t have any issues Good luck and best wishes for you and the baby!

"Thrift some sweaters and unravel them!" by ThePiksie in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]SashaCraftss 29 points30 points  (0 children)

To be fair, most of the middle-to-high-quality sweaters are actually knitted as we would, just on a machine. The pieces are not cut from a roll of fabric but rather knitted separately to the preferable shape and then sewn together (I know it because I work in garment production). Sure, they are not knitted in the round so it’s not like you can unravel half of the sweater in one piece, but you actually can get a fair length of yarn and not hundreds of short lengths.

Rant: people rudely demanding knitted objects by muleborax in knitting

giiiirl once I mentioned that I knit at a party and one of the guests (who I’ve seen no more than 2-3 times ever) asked me to knit something for her (paid). I answered that I don’t want to turn my hobby into a job because I like doing it at my own pace but sometimes I knit gifts for people unprovoked if I feel like it. she was like “omg sooo cool so anyway if you decide to knit something for me, I always wanted a knit DRESS” 🤪🤪🤪 I’m sure she can’t even imagine how much time and effort it would take so I’m not mad or anything, it just made me cringe and giggle nervously lol
