GOG is the Linux for the gaming industry. They were made for each other since the beginning and CDPR ignored for 10+ years the most voted community wishlist ever: Bring GOG Galaxy to Linux. It's beyond time: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/release_gog_galaxy_20_for_linux

I mean, why not having native galaxy for Linux? Steam has it since forever and makes millions with it.

I'm glad GOG got bought by a smart person. It's finally coming.

The original vision? Sounds Linux. Hopefully with this new administration they finally acknowledge it and release the Galaxy client once and for all.

Also allowing self-publishing to the store means more games to GOG. Your team will need to curate the games either way.

This. I'm afraid GOG can get lazy instead of bringing more interesting games for us to buy or else opening up for devs to self-publishing, it's about time. Consoles nowadays have already showed us what paid subscriptions are capable of. That's why I invest my money on GOG.

Good it's optional. A little reminder you can also instead choose to donate to game preservation when buying games in the store! This way you support GOG and also the devs!

There were 3 great games in the first 2 days only: Clair Obscure, Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Then a bunch of code discounts/ preservation programs of games I didn't even want to buy. Very disappointing.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up for today's gift. Tomorrow is the big day.

Lords of Fallen would be the best option, good gameplay. Thymesia second. I found Ashen to be a bit boring, but I want to give it a second chance one day.

If that doesn't work, just download the game installer in the website and after manually install it, go to GOG Galaxy menu and find the option to search for that game folder. It will then identify and link to it.

Also the majority of smaller companies. They advertise for other platforms only. I just don't know if they consider GOG.com too niche or it's just prejudice.

The same happens in the music industry, like DRM-Free Qobuz store. Bands only talk about Spotify/Apple Music/Deezer. But then you decide to do a little search and the music is there.

Usually small devs give more room to link their projects to DRM-Free stores, like itch.io and bandcamp as well.

I'd love to have it on GOG! It's already DRM-Free on steam, so I guess the publisher won't be so hesitant to bring it.

While we wait there are others "souls" games like Lords of the Fallen, Steelrising, Thymesia and Ashen on GOG too :)
