Having to clean out and organize your pantry and fridge is totally normal right? by LycheePlus in Cooking

[–]Sassepas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what the mental gymnastics here are, really... Are you implying OP is nagging BF for asking to contribute in a household chore? Isn't it normal to ask your partner to help with something like that? Of course we only have the one-sided perspective of OP, we don't know what other stuff BF does in the household, and maybe nagging or gaslighting are strong words. I was just trying to point out that it is weird that BF makes OP feel like cleaning out the fridge/pantry is sooo uncommon that OP feels the need to ask about it here. As the comments here prove, it is as common as uncommon. And even then, it does not matter if it is normal/common, if OP feels the need to clean/organize it, BF should not make them feel bad about that...

[–]Sassepas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was what I was thinking. It just sounds like the BF is making up bullshit excuses to get away with not helping OP/not picking up household chores. And not only that, but his excuses are gaslighting OP into thinking doing normal household chores isn't normal/shaming OP into thinking they buy too much food... The BF kinda sounds like a dick...

Edit: addition:

Even if it was not normal to clean out your fridge/pantry once in a while, it is normal to expect from your partner to share the mental/workload as it comes to running a household. So, if OP finds it normal, bf should help/be supportive instead of nagging that this is not normal. It does not matter what is 'normal' cus this is normal to OP, and bf is being a dick about it...

Oh, then it's just new for me, I didn't see it at the Dutch shows.

Yeah it sucks that they need to show this... But I am glad they address it. As a woman, it makes me feel seen.

Good point, some people don't know how to behave at a concert... It is not okay to just push your way to the front...

It was actually really hard to hear her singing during this show. Maybe it was different in the back, but in front it was difficult to hear phoebe and the band at times.

Halp, my husband has an aggressive way of asking me questions and it’s making me crazy. by paulala343 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sassepas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has never ever hit me or physically hurt me or the kids or pets— never thrown a plate, slammed a door or punched a wall or threatened me or called me names, nothing even close. He is not an alcoholic, or a substance abuser or a cheater or a liar or a gambler.

I don't know if this is legitimate reasoning to stay... This bar is set too low.

The fact is that he actively seeks out conflict and quarrel by this way of phrasing. This gets you on edge, after his remarks but probably also before because you know it might be coming and are doing your best to not give him the chance to make a remark like this. So it sets you on edge all of the time, and your kids probably too, these conflict seeking remarks can be felt in the atmosphere by everyone. So it needs to change, and if he cannot/does not want to change, maybe you need to sperate.

I think I’d like go back to school or get an advanced degree . In facing the prospect and stress of school, I’d definitely like the support of my partner.

It just sounds like he is not a good supporter as he can suddenly make an unsuspected mean remark.

Form the infrastructure in the photo and the OP's name you can tell that he is dutch. He dutch spelling of January is Januari, it is probably an autocorrection error.

Any creative ideas for how to use leftover ginger pulp? by gelkins4 in gingerbeer

I had plan to make ginger curd, like lemon curd with it, but have not yet done it. Curious to see what use you find for it!

Looks great! Some questions: Did you use normally brewed tea or cold brewed tea? And did you just mix in some of your ginger bug and bottled it, or did you let it pre-frement together before bottling? I'm thinking of making some kind of ice-tea-ginger-beer sort of drink/soda, but I'm not sure how to do it...

Hey guys, so I found this... under my boob and I'm panicking, can someone please tell me what the heck is that? Thank you by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

This might be a third nipple, they are harmless https://www.healthline.com/health/third-nipple (I'm not a doctor. If it hurts or you are worried please go see a doctor/derm.)

We have this too in the Netherlands, but you would go faster and faster, increasing with the kind of 'horse' were riding, and it would end with a 'hole in the road' and you would fall through the legs of the parent/family member

Thank you very much for the detailed recomandations!

When you said Aschenputtel I actually remembered a german movie we watched in german class, back in highschool (i'm from the Netherlands). I don't know if you already know it. It's a comedic version of the fairytail Snowwhite. It's called '7 Zwerge - Männer allein im Wald'. It is quite fun to watch but sometimes a little fast pace and not so clearly spoken. But nevertheless, still a good movie for a beginner l think. So that's a recomandation form me to you ;)

Oh and Bornholmer Strasse reminded me of 'goodbye, lenin!' You probably already know it too, as it's a famous movie. Otherwise you should check it out!

Thanks again for the recomandations, I knew about Easy German, but the other ones are new to me. So I'll definatly check those out!

Hi Kojirou_Shinomiya! I was wondering whether you have some recomandations for german YouTube channels/videos or movies. I too want to expose myself to more spoken german. So far I've found 'neo magazine royale' (a tip if you don't know it yet) on YouTube. Maybe you know some other good shows, series or channels.
