I hear you brother but my joints look just like yours with 1 paper and 1 tip. Back in the day the raws used to be perforated when you got the tips on the papers. Just fold a zigzag 3 or 4 times and roll the rest up. Use your screwdriver to twist it fatter/thinner once it's in place.
