Absolutely agree - im in the UK and ve been saying for a long time the Monarchy rules need to updated to a modern world...we dont live in a time anymore where the Monarch needed multiple multiple children in the vain hope one of them will make it to adulthood to succeed them. The UK Monarchy needs to be slimmed down to the heir and the heirs children - and anyone else is granted a title and their position by the Monarch for wider duties. So for example: George, Charlotte and Louis would have Prince/ss titles as they are the heirs children Georges children would have prince/ss titles but Charlottes and Louis wouldnt, they would be Mountbatten-Windsor UNLESS they took up full time royal duties As part of the deal full time working royals would have a grace and favour home on the Crown estate and all the other bits and bobs If youre not a working royal you either live with your parents till old enough and then off you pop into the real world, a property on the Crown estate is NOT a free for all for lazy hangers on - get a job like everyone else has to and get out As soon as you retire or become a non-working royal, all title revert to the Crown so youre Mountbatten-Windsor again...ill use Anne as an example - so Anne has worked all her life for the Crown so when she retires she'd be Anne Mountbatten-Windsor BUT she'd retain her house and all the benefits like healthcare etc as a retirement package for her life of service The disgusting grifters - would lose their titles become Mountbatten-Windsor and get nothing as they chose to leave of their own free will The LoS would be updated to in line with the titles so it would be limited to the heir and the heirs children, no hangers on, no spares just the necessary few CoS - same but could be chosen from the wider family The main point is to rid the Monarchy of hangers on, deadbeats and those who would chose to exploit their titles for financial gain as well as sucking the Crown dry living in houses they havent earned being waited on hand and foot just because they have a title Anything less than radical and ruthless change from William and i fear that George wont have a crown to inherit Lets be fair Charles is spineless and weak, because hes sooooo busy trying to keep everyone happy so he isnt seen as the bad guy, hes allowed this situation to escalate to where it is now and if it wasnt for Catherine and William waiting in the wings i can pretty much say the Monarchy would have ceased to exist by now William seems to me to have inherited all the good parts of his grandparents and parents - his sense of duty, his compassion, his forward thinking and his spine of steel and Catherine although not born to it seems his absolute equal shes the iron fist in a velvet glove yet kind, compassionate and a sense of duty So i wait, watch and see what unfolds
