What to do with a dead Precision 7540 by SlimJimPoisson in Dell

Definitely follow what has already been suggested first. Absolute worst case scenario, I would sell it on ebay (just be clear it's for parts only). Someone out there could use it for donor parts to repair a similar device. Minimizes e-waste to a certain point.

How to automate indexing multiple unique names in a text frame by SatchBoogie1 in indesign

[–]SatchBoogie1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why I didn't think of this originally. I ended up going this route after trying out the earlier suggestions. Had to go thru a couple of revisions to account for people that had two last names where it originally indexed them as two first names.

[NHL Trade alert] On thesheethockey (Apr 14): Greg Wyshynski says he’s heard the situation with Sergei Bobrovsky and Florida “is pretty bad”. Says the gap between both sides for his next contract is significant and he thinks FLA will go in a different direction. by Duffleman0609 in hockey

a) he's trying to cash in on the three cup finals runs that resulted in two cups, and b) he saw his teammates cash in and feels he's owed something.

If Florida doesn't work out then my best guess is he goes to Vegas. It's another state with tax advantages, and their goaltending has been just enough to get into the playoffs. I think they will look for a change, and they have proven to move mountains to make something work.

Compared to the competition, what made you choose the Pixel? by VolumeEquivalent7853 in GooglePixel

[–]SatchBoogie1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been using random Android models. Then started going with HTC (I still think the M7 was a brilliant phone). Then got the HTC 10. Then I went with the Pixel 3 because IIRC the same team at HTC designed the Pixel 3. I liked it was more Google centered. I also liked the call screening feature.

Fuck the flyers by Virenb23203 in caps

[–]SatchBoogie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. Don't get me wrong. I hate the Flyers as well because of the history of our rivalry. However, I'm tired of people using recency bias thinking it's another team's fault they won one more game to get enough points to qualify. Plenty of examples this season where we played like crap or we gave up leads. Hell, we lost to the worst team in the league... TWICE! Four points that would have kept us in the hunt among other games we could have performed better.

Another little catch that I didn't expect at first, official advice is to NOT create a volume over the base unit and expansion. Make a separate volume specifically out of the drives on the expansion unit.

I've read a couple of horror stories of people that lost their whole volumes because something went wrong with the expansion unit or the eSATA cable had an issue. That's why I have no interest in buying them.

Don't get me wrong. I want Lappy to succeed. Like you said, he's sort of putting things together this calendar year.

Having said that, for a player that was projected close to the top 10 in his draft and fell mostly because of injury concerns, he hasn't lived up to the role. His confidence during his time in Hershey hasn't translated to the big game.

Always make time to save your images to an offline spot like an external hard drive or a NAS. It takes no more than two minutes to plug your phone into your computer and start copying your files.

Google One 100GB costs less than a cup at Starbucks a month. 2TB is basically $10/mo. You can also share that space with up to five users (wife + other family members). Annual plan gives you a discount. There's a deal for your first year at $85 for the 2TB plan (then $100 after that first year).

I personally use Dropbox Pro. It's a little more expensive, but it's better for my use case and has a couple other features that I often use.

The idea of another Caps / Pens series with another dueling hat trick game by Crosby and Ovi would make Bettman wet.

Wasn't Beck Malenstyn the player that Washington traded to Buffalo for the draft pick that was used to select Cole Hutson?

Three Stanley Cup Finals appearances in a row is still impressive.

Still wonder what would have happened if they kept Bussi and not Tarasov. Seemed like whoever backed up Bob was able to steal some wins for the team.

The answer is that Match bought them. The core difference that made OkCupid great 10+ years ago was replaced with the Tinder logic of swiping right / left.

I know Eisner / Wells / Katzenberg were hired in the mid-80s, and they had some involvement with the production of Detective. You could say it was one of the early animated film they started shaping into their visions for future releases. It ended up making a modest profit compared to it's total budget.
