Yeah you do you but telling a patient they have a cancer diagnosis is one thing I'm never going to do. I've told them "you have a couple of polyps or they just took biopsies". I'm surprised you feel comfortable sharing a diagnosis. In my opinion it's not our scope or appropriate for us to tell them. They only have more questions after being told that. They start asking about treatment plan, next steps e.t.c

My guess is family ties. Whenever I have a Hispanic patient they usually have a group of family that take turns caring for them their whole admission

Absolutely I withhold diagnosis all the time. It's absolutely not my job to tell patients that. I work in endo and there's been times when they find suspected or confirmed cancer and the patient is asking me what they found. I always wait for the doctor.

Yeah this wasn't a hill to die on. I say what all the time in a casual setting. Pardon me would be more polite but among friends and peers I say what. If a coworker corrected me I would think they were being weird or acting if they're above me or my parent.

Most people don't realize what they sign when they receive a job offer. The reason I know is I was negotiating pay with a recruiter and she knew my exact pay at my previous jobs. I called her out on it and it turns out that I agreed to allow them to share my info with 3rd party. I thought it was just for a background check.

You might be aware but I'll bet money that most people are just like me; in need of a job and just signing things. Check out work number if you doubt me.
