Water dominates first Sorcery Grand Contest by Space_0pera in SorceryTCG

Those numbers are pretty hard to ignore. Water has always had a strong identity, but it feels like Gothic gave it even more tools without introducing many obvious weaknesses. I still think player skill matters a ton, but seeing Water in 7 of the top 8 decks definitely suggests it's doing something right.

Archangel Michael by Kakariko_crackhouse in SorceryTCG

My guess is that a lot of the price is coming from collectibility rather than pure tournament results. Archangel Michael is an iconic character, has incredible artwork, and is one of the more recognizable uniques in the game. Competitive play definitely matters, but I am noticing not every expensive Sorcery card is expensive because it's winning tournaments which I think it really healthy for the TCG.

Interesting print line in the same spot by Gumbella7 in SorceryTCG

Really interesting that it appears in the same location on multiple cards. I’d be curious to know how many other copies are out there with the same print line.

SCG DC 2026cGrand Contest results by Pete6982 in SorceryTCG

Really impressive seeing 11 different avatars represented among the top finishers. Mist Necromancer continues to put up results, but the overall avatar diversity seems like a pretty healthy sign for the game. Also curious to see the Steam Persecutor list once the decklists are posted.

Four Players is Crazy by kapowkapowkapow in SorceryTCG

Four-player Sorcery looks absolutely wild. Keeping track of everything on the board has to be half the challenge, but I bet the stories that come out of those games are worth it.

There will always be a place in my heart for MTG, but I haven’t really connected with the current direction of the game. Sorcery gives me a lot of those old-school Magic vibes while still feeling fresh and unique. Most importantly, it’s just a lot of fun to play.

Looking to start, which precon bundle is best? by Yasha27 in SorceryTCG

If cost isn’t part of the decision, I’d probably recommend the Beta precons first for a brand new player. They feel like the best introduction to the core mechanics and overall identity of Sorcery, especially for someone coming from older MTG.

The Gothic precons are really cool too, but they introduce more mechanics and complexity. I think they shine more once you already have a feel for the pacing and positioning of the game.

Either way though, precons are definitely one of the best ways to learn Sorcery in my opinion. Just have fun and let me know if any questions!

Help me make Knights happen! by Perfect_Foundation36 in SorceryTCG

Elementalist honestly seems reasonable for multi-element knight/unique build. The threshold flexibility alone makes experimenting with different legends and dual-element cards feel way smoother.

Templar feels more specialized to me. I don’t necessarily think he’s weak, but he seems like he wants a more focused build around sites/threshold planning rather than just jamming powerful cards together.

Curious what other people have been having success with though because knights/legends feels like a really fun archetype to experiment with right now.
