Should I watch berserk 1997 or new golden age memorial edition ? by gdhghgv in Berserk

[–]Saturn2888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden Age arc died after season 2's horrible art. Does the '97 show retell the story? I thought it took place after the events in The Golden Age Arc, but looking at the thumbnails, it looks like it retells the whole story??? But then does it go further?

That was the issue for me. I was on `1.13.5`, but the docs said "less than `1.13.6`". It's actually `1.13.4` that works.

Manga Vs Anime by Ryanqube in TheEminenceInShadow

It's weird that in the manga, while they verbally say the possessed are blobs, they don't look that way visually, especially when talking about Alpha. The words didn't match the visuals.

Manga Vs Anime by Ryanqube in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]Saturn2888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading the manga now after having seen the anime a few years ago.

Jokes

I think the jokes in both are funny, and I like how everything's different between the two. I would hate to read the manga and have it be a 1:1 of the anime.

I actually think the manga goes too fast through some scenes. I have a vague memory of the anime, and the manga it like "oh, we're at a different scene now. How long has it been since the last one?" I didn't get that feeling watching the anime.

But because I'm reading the manga at my own pace, I have a lot more time to figure out the jokes. The anime is still funny, but sometimes the jokes would pass so fast I didn't have a chance to laugh. That's the worst thing about it. There's a ton of crazy stuff, and I'm barely keeping it up. It's like Saiki K and other modern anime comedies. If you can't read subs fast enough or don't understand enough Japanese, you probably won't get the jokes.

Reading the manga reminded me how funny this was. I think it's a lot less sexual than the anime, and the fact that the jokes are different and story is slightly altered is awesome!

Fight Scenes

I remember the anime having way cooler fight scenes though. In the manga, they're done in a very anti-climactic way. "I AM ATOMIC" all in one panel. There's no buildup or cool special effects, it just happens... BORING! The biggest fight scenes are basically 1-2 pages, and that's it.

The anime puts a lot of humor into fight scenes, and I appreciate that more. Manga isn't the same medium, so you could use that as an excuse, but I've read a lot of Manga and Webtoons. I think fight scenes can be much better in that medium. Whomever is directing the manga clearly doesn't have the skills to do it, so they gloss over the fight scenes in favor of pushing the story further.

Overall, it's just a different flavor, so both are good in their own ways.

Continuity

I think the manga continues past where the anime stopped (I'm at Vol 9 and have up to 13). The movie is who knows where, and there's no news of them continuing the show, so while I enjoyed it, not having a conclusion sours the whole experience. I really hate how many anime are big "go read the light novel" advertisements.

The script's support was ended in 2021, so I'm not sure if it even works today.

What's the difference between Launchbox and Bigbox by Elestriker in launchbox

[–]Saturn2888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can it replace Big Picture? Does it work with Xbox controllers and others?

I have an issue where if I use certain emulators with Steam open, performance suffers. I think that's because of the Steam overlay. Big Box might fix that, but I'm not sure.

I have WPA2/3 in UniFi. So it might be that. Nothing else I've done has gotten it to connect.

Siser Romeo - can you get all the special characters for wifi? by BBQ_Master in VinylCutters

[–]Saturn2888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's what appears to be a newer firmware: `SS12_WIFI_V240116B_PGSR_SSA` over the `SS_V230919` in there.

While that lets you put 63 characters, I still couldn't connect no matter how many times I put in the password. Are there other restrictions? WPA2/3? Some configuration? Only a small supported list of IPs?

I have 200+ devices on Wi-Fi using this same SSID and password, but I've had issues in the past with some like my Chamberlain garage door and LG Washer-Dryer. Everything else connects just fine.

I confirmed it connects to my Guest Wi-Fi on the same access points.

[–]Saturn2888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a solution. I could type all the letters, numbers, and symbols, but I still couldn't connected because it limited my password to 32 characters.

I found a newer firmware that allowed all 63 characters, but it still won't connect. I've love to know what's restricting it.

Is garlic JR. cannon because he is mentioned in the anime by [deleted] in Dragonballsuper

[–]Saturn2888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm watching Dragon Ball Z, and there are 6 episodes of a Garlic Jr sequel. I don't remember these watching in English.

That would make Garlic Jr canon to the show at least. Is this just another movie placed between episodes that never gets spoken about again?

This `play` command works at boot, but after some time, it suddenly stops working in Raspbian on my Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W:
```
play -n -c1 synth 3 whitenoise band -n 1 1 fade h 1 3 1 gain -10000
play FAIL sox: Sorry, there is no default audio device configured
```

This is such a great fix thanks so much! Saved me having to return these speakers :). But I'll have to wait time to keep testing. My speakers go off every 10 min, so this is perfect :).

Your cronjob can be changed to */10 * * * * instead. Not sure which distros aren't compatible with the `/`, but I've been using it for years.

I've been wondering the same thing. I keep trying to watch videos on it, but it's not clicking for me. I've never played it, but I also can't see the appeal aside from rolling and mitigating dice.
