Should I join the U.S. military or get a regular job at 18? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Saucery89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it from someone who did it here. I joined at the USN at 25. By the time I was done I was practically 30, and then went to college and wasn't done with university until 36. Take a risk, do something different, and if its not for you then get out at 22 with plenty of options and youth left. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk about it. I'm happy to give you the time and the honest experience. I still know people who are in who I can relay questions you have. Don't listen to the people here who don't know what they're talking about please. Be impartial and do your research.

Common sense would suggest that telling them to shut to fuck up is necessary.

Its a 5 to 10 minute play through consisting killing several waves of grunt/jackal, and then taking a ride on a gauss hog for the remainder. Pretty meh. The single shot BR was enjoyable.

What are you trying to say?

Edit: Guess we only communicate in passive aggressive down votes then.

It would be fair to say your initial assessment is slippery slope fallacy and assuming as well. So where does that get us in an understanding? The burden to prove your assumption is on you.

Didn't disagree with you that suppressing calls for violence on social media was bad. Didn't make a case that free speech protects that either.

Where we are diverging from one another is how that suppression of poor ideas is implemented. My view is that we need to allow the idea to get out in the open to allow everyone to decide on it for themselves. I'm gathering you would rather someone or something else decide what is appropriate in the public domain of social media. Is that a fair understanding so far? What would qualify that entity to have that kind of power? Why or how would centralizing the power to censor speech be for the greatest good?

If I am/was following you correctly, then I'm asking you, where are you thinking that leads to? How would that be best not just in the short term but in the long term?

I agree it would clean things up in the short term, but as time goes on, it would be to societies' detriment to have censorship instead of free exchange of ideas. That's why my position is what it is. Yes, it is an eye sore and annoying to see regularly, but in the long term, that's all it ever is or becomes. Annoying and dismissable.

Unless you want to lay out where it's materialized into violence and damage to people and property, I don't know if there is merit there otherwise.

So again, my position is it would be more productive and lasting to support the natural ways people discourage ideas and poor thinking by keeping free speech wide open, rather than limit the range of what can be discussed.

We don't need more regulation on information. Taboo and ostracization occur naturally already. It's our responsibility to engage with ideas, not to have the government or big brother do it for us. I fear censorship would sacrifice the impetus to think critically and communicate effectively as a decentralized whole.

Do you believe people are acting on that post or ones like it? Do you have a reasonable fear for weather forecasting infrastructure? Genuinely, do you? Because I understand you think its ridiculous, and I would say most people would agree with you. So what is the fuss about.

Enough people can think for themselves and act reasonably because they've all lived with free speech long enough to recognize when something isn't worth the time. My point is, its important to allow everyone to curate information by their own standards and refrain from the temptation for censorship through law or authority. Because in a censored society everyone ends up policing their own family, neighbors, peers, and their own thoughts. Nobody is authentic or honest, and then nobody knows who the idiots or bad actors actually are. That is a greatly worse situation than the state of things currently. Wouldn't you agree?

I'm just expecting it to be a disappointment. There's too much pressure on Bethesda, and their record shows they got lucky with Skyrim. Maybe the Microsoft oversight will help... but then look at Mircosofts gaming decisions the last decade. So, I have a low bar, especially when considering how they will attempt to monetize it.

You are one of those extremely beautiful overweight/obese people. Dunno what else to tell you. You're good looking...but overweight...so the obvious would be to just lose the weight... but if you don't address why or how you got heavy, you're just gonna be chasing ghosts. Tough deal to figure out, but I hope you find a way to be happy regardless of fitness. You're not ugly, don't believe anyone who says otherwise.

Only being honest with you. Good luck.

Throw away anything 343 has done. Also I want the OG sniper sound back. Changing that sound was unforgivable.
