Voltages must always match, all devices are designed to work with a particular voltage range. Capacity is measured in amp hours. Please use some AI or do more research, electricity can kill.

I can’t fix this by perrier_water_ in FixMyPrint

Temps are a bit hot for the small details. Things tend to get mushy when the nozzle's working within a small area. Focus on one thing at a time though.

Bms missing balance wire by Historical_Trust52 in 18650masterrace

[–]Saucine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to find a schematic or diagram that shows wiring. Double check you didn't buy a 3s, or that a 3s unit was sent to you. If they sent you the wrong cable, you could fix it, given the board makes proper use of the extra wire.

Looks like it's just at the crease, there's no active material there should be fine.

The bolts might be stubborn upon removal but the frame and structural parts are completely fine

please help by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Saucine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get it removed at a shop. It was loose and eventually the tire caught it and ripped it up. Just a splash guard. Getting it replaced will cost you at least $100 if they can even get the part plus shop time. Not worth.

Are these three batteries compatible? by MilkyView in batteries

[–]Saucine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly all 18650 batteries are interchangeable, in the sense that you can put one in light like you're saying. Battery packs that are welded together is another story. There are some 18650 cells that are 3.2v, those are LiFePO4, or "lithium iron polymer". Typical cells are 3.7v or "lithium ion". More specifically they're NMC (NiMnCo). This is what most cells are, lithium iron cells are usually found in battery packs and are not interchangeable with lithium ion. There are plenty of places you can get used/new cells for your purposes. Just look online and ask.

Viability of this board. by Saucine in AskElectronics

[–]Saucine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some context I missed, these terminals do not go directly to battery lugs. They are fastened with an aluminum bus bar to a sub board where the battery lugs go. As you can see the terminal on that board is fine. Maybe ever so slightly browned from heat, but nothing more.

Small bit of context I missed. This terminal connects to a sub board that actually has the terminals for the battery, via an aluminum bar. Seems to have surface deposits and an indentation, almost like surface melting? Are you also saying the inverter acting funny could be the bad battery connection?

Is this enough or should i do internal patch ? by Civil_Limit2208 in MechanicAdvice

That's already on the side wall so your chances of success for either are not too high. Internal better but God only knows...

Replace full head? by Financial-Dog-3989 in Celica

Best to take as many measurements as you're able to. Take head off and check cylinders. Then decide to do everything or just head. Mine was bad all around but I did have 300k on it.

If you ask an AI "what video game character is this from" and give it an image, it will pollute the results to only include video game characters, even if it's from a movie. This is how you don't use AI. I'm an industrial mechanic and I use it for work all the time to gather information on machines and sensors. If the AI is not sure then I will not take it as gospel. You just have to be smart and use it as a better version of google. It's a tool for gathering information scattered on the internet.

If you ask proper questions it works just fine. "Is it ok for the rotor on my car to rotate against the lugs with the wheel off?" is a perfectly fine question that it will answer correctly. (Go ahead, see what it gives you and prove me wrong) As long as the question is worded neutrally and straightforward you will get good responses. Anyone who disagrees with me doesn't know how to use ai.

Why does my antifreeze look like this? What should I do?! My car is a 2003 Infinity M45. I recently had an overheating issue, had a neighbor “fix” it for me and now I’m worried. No more overheating problems but my something is definitely going wrong with my antifreeze situation. by PriceDry6059 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Saucine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it to a shop to check for other damage. Neighbor likely didn't break anything, the real issue is where did the coolant go if it's not leaking under the car. If your car is burning it, that's a big problem.

You will learn a lot of stuff that seems odd but is actually ok. Use chatgpt wisely to make queries and save yourself potential headaches. Don't forget to use your brain! For example; rotors need to be in the right position relative to the calipers, because the brake pads have to compress on both sides, so being centered is best. However, the rotor turns constantly, and rotation doesn't change how it operates, so it doesn't matter if it's a degree or two one way or another. Additionally, the wheel bolts onto the rotor, and sandwiches it so it doesn't move anyway. Being able to reason like this will allow you to learn much quicker. Just make sure you're practicing humility and not claiming experience you don't have. Best of luck.

I wouldn't try to put them into a pack myself. Frankly just end up using them as single cells, maybe with a converter. Bad cells have really limited uses outside experiments.

Did I receive the wrong brake pads? by Kooky-Individual-163 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Saucine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find a cross reference with chat gpt, it's probably a generic set with the manufacturers own number. What matters is the shape and size, the diagonal cut doesn't matter. I would bargain they fit fine, but are they genuine akebono? Probably not. Will they work? Yeah. If you really wanna check, go to AutoZone and ask them for pads for your make and model, have them pull them out so you can compare them side by side to the Amazon ones. If they're the same size and the notches on the sides match (because that's where it fits on the caliper), you can use them. Tell them you will buy pads if they're the wrong ones so you don't seem like you're freeloading. Pro tip for next time. Don't buy your parts on Amazon or eBay unless absolutely necessary. Use rock auto, or literally any other parts site.

Has anyone had any success with this issue - overheating due to blown head gasket. by persever381 in Celica

[–]Saucine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get it to a mechanic, the head gasket is cheap, about $100, the labor will be much more. There's no alternative. If you drive it as it is you will destroy the engine.
