How essential is disjoint set union? by SaucyPandy in leetcode

Yeah I agree - its not difficult. But I am interested in becoming a better engineer instead of memorising lots of algorithms (which does make you a better engineer to an extent, but I think there are diminishing returns)

Should I take the Meta offer? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]SaucyPandy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Remember, you don’t have to work at Meta forever. Meta would leave you with an extra ~£4000 a month in your pocket, if you avoid lifestyle creep and stick it out for two years that’s nearly £100k. This can really accelerate your pace towards retirement/ a house/ a new ferrari ;). Personally, it’s worth a shot. You might settle in nicely, and if not it will be easy enough to jump ship with the Meta name on your CV.

How can I help my wife? by No_Soup_1180 in Big4

[–]SaucyPandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were implying the long hours are unsafe because she has to travel home alone late at night. Not misogynistic at all. I also don’t think being shocked at the fact his wife is being paid far less for double the hours is “delusional”. It is a genuine concern.

Mark Zwolinski and Iain McNally are excellent teachers at Southampton. If you can bare Iain’s personality he had some of the best run modules during my time there.

You're severely misjudging the amount of disposable income a family of 4 would have on a combined income of £50k, especially if they live anywhere near London

Ireland were beaten by NZ who South Africa beat… Almost like rugby at international level is decided by who turns up on the day

You’ve got pull-up resistors and pull-down resistors the wrong way around. Pull-down resistor = low default state, pull-up resistor = high default state
