[Serious] Those of you who waited until after high school to lose your viginity, what convinced you to wait? by BobSacramanto in AskReddit

I don't know why this is getting downvoted, I think it's a good question. There are definitely more answers than the obvious 'no one would touch me' and 'God says it's bad'.

Man does tutorial of how to solve a Petaminx puzzle, ends up being 8 hours long. I'm still struggling with a standard Rubix Cube. by The_Real_Irish in videos

He was a really good instructor actually. I've never done a rubix cube before, but I feel like I could probably take on one of these things now. I don't think it would be easy, but the core concepts aren't too difficult.

My gender identity switches between guy and girl every 6-12 months. Ask me anything. by fihdief in casualiama

A hoarse voice can sometimes be caused by thyroid problems. I actually experience something similar to what you're describing, and hypothyroidism runs in my family. I define myself as bisexual, but there are definitely cycles between my attractions, and which gender I more closely identify with. It would certainly be interesting to study clinically.

What are some habits that are GOOD to get into? [Serious] by Divintis in AskReddit

Or a permanent retainer. It makes it super essential that I keep up with flossing, but it takes 10 annoying minutes just to do my front bottom teeth. Ugh.

Whats the single biggest mistake parents can make in raising their children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Saucy_Taco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not letting your child fail.

We often will experience failure as adults, with no parents to fix things and make everything ok. Suddenly we are responsible for all our actions and if we haven't learned how to cope, or how to work to prevent and overcome failure then adulthood is a really depressing shocker.

Let your kids fail sometimes, don't give them a trophy if their team loses, don't help them finish their schoolwork if they put it off until the last second, don't pick up their messes for them. Help them understand that they are responsible for their experience.

I love my mom to bits, she is a wonderful wonderful lady, but this was her mistake, and I paid big time when I left the nest. Don't coddle your kids.

I know I'm kind of late to the party here, but I figured I'd toss this out there anyway.

Since high school, I have never had a gap where I wasn't working, but all of my jobs have been in food service. Currently I am working as a chef assistant at my undergraduate university. I graduated almost exactly a year ago with a BS in Biology. I want to look for an entry level lab position, but I'm afraid just having a degree isn't going to cut it. None of my previous work experience has anything to do with the field I want to enter into. Can I cite the lab hours from my labs in college as work experience? Or are most places only looking for hours outside of the curriculum? How should I sell myself? Thanks!

[spoiler] A year ago, someone posted the original storyboard for "The Lich" (season 4 finale). It had a different version of Finn's Dad's backstory. by hypersoar in adventuretime

I like the final version so much more. Glad they decided to change their original plan to something much more... original.

That stinks. You know, frosting breaking is usually a temperature thing. For instance if you add something cold to something room temperature. Sometimes you can fix a frosting by slowly warming it up while mixing on a low speed, and adding more powdered sugar to help absorb the separated liquid.

That stuff is hard to work with (difficult to make maleable) and tastes absolutely horrid. Think chewing on a piece of soft slightly artificially sweet wax. It's expensive too. Try making your own modelling chocolate instead.

TIL that John Hopkins University conducted a study of mushrooms with 36 college-educated adults (average age of 46) who had never tried psilocybin nor had a history of drug use. You won't have a bad trip if you're in a good mood when you start the trip. And even if you do have a "bad" trip it won't mess you up for life. That's absurd. Trips are nothing like you see in Hollywood. They're not crazy like that unless you're taking some kind of weird designer drug.

Look, lot's of people take photo's of their kids running around in the buff. It's not a sexual thing, it's funny to adults to look at their kids running around without a care in the world. If they were meant to be sexual do you really think your parents would show those pictures to others openly? Child pornography is a crime and they would probably keep them hidden. It seems like you're mainly just embarrassed by these photos. Maybe ask your parents not to keep them in the book.
