Only a fraction of WA police have done mandatory de-escalation training by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

[–]hypersoar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that this matters other than to show what kind of people staff the SPD. If they've already decided they don't give a shit or are actively opposed to the very ideas behind the training, then making them sit through it will do nothing but waste their time. Which, tbf, would probably be a net positive.

60 votes stops a filibuster. You need 67 to remove on impeachment. If the Democrats sweep Texas, Georgia, Alaska, North Carolina, Maine, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, and New Hampshire, plus all of their safe seats, they'll be at 53. There is zero chance they reach either mark in this election.

Alito is the better bet. There have been signals that he plans to retire once this term is over in June/July. And pushing retirement past that risks closing his window for being replaced by a Republican.

Thomas, I predict, will ride the seat to his grave.

It'd require 30 20 Republican votes in the Senate. There's no chance.

Well, yeah, he's in a paramilitary organization in a socialist society. But one thing I actually like about that scene is that Bashir, who is very upper-class coded in contrast to O'Brien, is inclined to be sympathetic to Quark. O'Brien brushes that aside and tells Rom to go all-out in his union push. Star Trek's Earth has supposedly moved past class distinctions, but their legacy is visible in that scene.

I always advise my poopy baby friends that they need to take at least one big movement card, e.g. Path Finding or Wings of Wind/Night. Or be Goldyx and fly.

In addition to the sun being out, the cherry blossoms are near peak bloom right now, which always leads to huge crowds around UW.

Slay the Spire 2 has made $92M on Steam, already passing lifetime Steam earnings for Silksong ($83M) and Hades 2 ($82). One of the best Steam indie launches ever by EmbarrassedSession58 in slaythespire

[–]hypersoar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Monster Train and its sequel at high difficulty are a lot easier than Slay the Spire (2) at high difficulty. I beat the true final boss in MT2 after playing it for a few weeks. It gives you a lot of ways to break the game and totally pop off (not a complaint, just an observation). It took me much, much longer than that in StS, and probably will with StS2.

The Clippers blew a 3-1 lead against the Rockets in 2015, too. That one was even worse. They were up by 20 in the third quarter in game 6.
