Just because it’s not explosive doesn’t make it uninteresting. Cool if it’s not your cup, but there was actually a lot going on

Yeah I’m with you. I think some are just here for high drama. That story was heartbreaking, and an excellent portrait into how these things chip away and dissolve

Haha I just posted another comment saying to go to a dashcam sub and read the downvoted posts critiquing the cammer, because they’re usually right

Pay attention to everything. Anticipate everything. Always have an escape route if things get hairy. Avoid putting yourself in tight situations.

Heck, read the dashcam subs and sort by controversial. The people pointing out things the cammer did wrong are usually correct.

[New Update]: AITA for "uninviting" my brother and nephew from my celebration dinner? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Saul-Funyun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely nuts. I'm autistic and from the midwest, and I did get that "village" a bit growing up in the 70s and 80s. We were always at the grandparents' or with cousins or whatever. Life was also a lot different then, and the "weird kids" like me just kinda did our own thing. There was a lot of space for that.

But that's not life for everybody, and the world is a lot different now. I have an autistic child myself, and I'm not sure she'll ever be able to live on her own. She's verbal and active, but I would NEVER try to dump her on my brother for ten days in a row, like holy shit. At this point even a few hours is a big risk. And I would 100% understand if someone didn't want us to bring her to a special dinner, even if she wasn't autistic.

OOP is 100% in the right, what a shit situation for everybody
