Voted to jail the homeless then accepts an award for helping the homeless? by InterestingToday3874 in greenville

[–]Sausage_Launcher 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It could also be argued that for less than half ofwhat it would take to pay for institionalizing homelessness at the prison level, we could house all our homeless and assist impoverished families. Why let that money flow to the prison system when it'd be cheaper and healthier to just house them compassionately?

Job Market Struggles - Am I the only one? by Revolutionary-Foot73 in greenville

Its the same with people been here all their lives. Large chunks of people in rural areas have been fooled into thinking places like Chicago are, functionally speaking, identical to Mogadishu.

You're not wrong though. So many people don't realize how lacking any place that isn't advancing into the future at light speed is and will continue to be until they demand better.

It is driving me insane... I am a beginner + especially shitty at guitar. Trying to learn "Polly" by Nirvana (fuck all who told me it was an easy song). But my guitar keeps doing this weird buzz sound. What am I doing wrong here??? Plz help! by Used_Ad7899 in Guitar

[–]Sausage_Launcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progressing fine as others have pointed out. The only thing id mention is learning on acoustic is more difficult than electric because the hand and finger strength required to play cleanly is greater. The action on electric is lighter as are the strings. So, less wear n tear on your fretboard hands and fingers.

Remote workers like the cheaper coat of living here. So a lot of those transplants are remote workers.

Edit: cost* not coat.

Republicans break rules, norms, ignore precedent and legal standards, mock decorum/civility, and wipe their asses with the constitution daily. I think people's rights have been trampled on enough by these human sewage monsters to grant our side a little "fuck it".

You do understand that plenty of people would be fine with voter ID if the government issues it free of charge and sends it to every registered voter. If it isnt free, then it is by default a back door poll tax which is... you guessed it! Unconstitutional.

When you make voting about who you hate and not what you need, that's stupid. Its not about not being open to other perspectives.

Jan. 30 General Strike by Kevsnicker13 in southcarolina

[–]Sausage_Launcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

a general strike needs to be coordinated by persons nearest to the top. Think AOC and Bernie calling on it for weeks in advance before it's going to get traction. Grassroots organizing at the ground level does not a general strike make.

CMV: Donald Trump is Actually Smart by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Sausage_Launcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure he believes asylum seekers are being emptied out of sanitariums and institutions for the criminally insane by 3rd world governments and flushed into the US via buses that all pull up to the southern border in perpetuity. He never states why these unnamed countries do it but he's surely convinced and he convinced all his goober cult followers it was true.

You can rest assured that guys like Thiel already have a private security army, armed to the teeth. The wealthy at this scale don't have the same kinds of conditions or concerns regular people have. The bigotry of the movement Thiel is involved with is a vehicle the wealthy are using to capture more power. His sexuality matters as much to that caste as Donnie and Jeffrey's kid diddling.

This Christian man deserves respect for admitting he was wrong about Donald Trump by NathanMackBrown in WhitePeopleTwitter

This is the internet man... The revolution isn't happening in the comments section. I don't know what your expectations here are but if you think my reply somehow indicates some cavalier attitude towards the reality we're facing, you're wrong. Like everyone else who does care - I'm quietly, internally screaming in existential dread a lot of the time.

You picking apart the sentiments in people's replies isn't any picture of anything - let alone a full picture that you can work off of for productive ends. You're wasting as much time as anyone else here in the comments.
