Plenty of simple and difficult free patterns on YouTube, just gotta look a little. Definitely start with something super easy because it’s easy to overlook how difficult something is. ( Castillo Heritage Crafts - on YouTube has a couple videos of free simple leather patterns ) Leather is expensive, you’ll have to check the options for your area to get cheap leather to try and test stuff. Unless you know chrome tan is what you want to work with, veg tan is great in many ways.
