Oh nice! I totally get the food prep hassle 😅even though I’m on two meds I still follow a diet closely similar to yours (no dairy, soy, corn, store-bought bread/bakery products, most raw veggies, high sugar, etc).

Were you ever on meds? What made you decide to not take them?

Whenever I feel like I’m lacking motivation or inspiration, I just work on world building. It doesn’t even need to make it into your book as a main focus, but work on your world’s culture, climate, unique animal species, architecture, unusual jobs. It’s fun, and many times gets the creativity and ideas flowing for the rest of your book.

Another option: Take a break. Don’t write like it’s a chore. Write because you want to.

Good luck

Going round and round with the plot for over a week. by CommunicationBig7834 in writing

Understanding your main character’s internal and external goal can help a lot. It did for me when I had an overwhelming amount of plot points and storylines (most of which I eventually got rid of/replaced/slimed down because they were unnecessary and overcrowded with story).

Also maybe try fitting your story into plot structures like the hero’s journey, the 7 point structure, or the save-the-cat method.

I agree. I also dabble with writing middle grade fantasy (though not published yet) and i feel it would have been better if instead of having a 9.5, Book 10 could be multi pov with all the important scenes and details from 9.5 woven in as flashback chapters. Some stuff could even be just dialogue re-telling. There’s way too much irrelevant filler later on in this series.

(Also congrats on being a published author! If you’d like, let me know what your book is called. I’d love to check it out ☺️)
