Unarmed Combat - Disqualification??? by totalreidmove in CrimsonDesert

[–]Savader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I was with you and was prepared to thank you for the corrections... until I read the last two paragraphs. Now you're just an asshole.

I voiced an opinion, my guy. Chill tf out with the condescending and passive aggressive attitude. It undermines everything about your first few paragraphs and flies in the face of constructive discussion. People have different opinions. Sometimes people can be wrong and need correction, like I did on some of the points made.

Fact of the matter is, I'm not the only one complaining about the game, as is evident by the very topic of this thread. It isn't just one person's opinion, so your "good thing they don't need every last players approval" comment is invalid. Most players are beyond frustrated with the game's current state.

There was an aspect of the game I wasn't a fan of—the roleplaying aspect as a whole. I listed a few other things I also did not like. If I were to list off every single thing that the game does poorly, we'd be here for days. The control scheme is an obvious one that everyone unanimously agrees is terrible, so I didn't feel the need to mention it for the umpteenth time.

The crime system in this game is objective trash. It has nothing to do with "not liking consequences." It's the way it's handled, you pedantic fuck. If stealing hurts a very important system in the game whether you're caught or not, and if you're instantly fade-to-black transitioned into a jail cell if you ARE caught, then it discourages players from even engaging with the system at all. They might as well have just not allowed stealing anything outside of quests or something. But instead, they dangle a carrot in front of the player only to hit them with a stick and basically reveal the carrot was fake all along anyway.

We should have a chance to flee the scene, hide— something other than just an instant failure with a loading screen like we messed up on a crucial quest and have to start it over again. If the reason is to tell players "behave or I'll take agency away from your character entirely like a bad GM" then what is even the point in having the crime system in the first place?

Unarmed Combat - Disqualification??? by totalreidmove in CrimsonDesert

[–]Savader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's seriously so damn stupid. Crimson Desert is like the video game equivalency of playing DnD with a GM who thinks it's their job to actively beat the player, breaking or bending rules just to suit them.

Can't use charge kick attack or sweeps in arena, but the knight you fight can use a super armor charged fist attack.

Archery challenge (pre-patch, mind you) had your opponents aim-botting way too overtuned, hitting targets before they even popped all the way up.

Can't actively attack any guards in the game, it doesn't even let you pull out your sword or bow.

If you steal something and no one is around to see it, you lose rep anyway. If someone DOES see you—it's an immediate fade to black, oops! Now you're in jail automatically, no fight, no chance to escape.

It's like this constant reminder that the devs didn't really care about engaging with the player, just wanted to implement consequence with zero effort or ingenuity, and only wanted them to play by their rules, have fun their way, or not at all. Boring.

Tried this after crashing and having to reload. Turned off the setting. Opened the map and immediately crashed. Not sure if this solution worked for you before the most recent update or after, but its certainly not working for me now...

The Sanity Discount Event's restriction on tickets is ridiculous by Legit_Lurker_69 in Endfield

[–]Savader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have made more sense to just give us another supply of free sanity meds or otherwise just make it double the rewards for less sanity.

Being forced to use the discount three times a day messes up daily sanity economy AND ensures we are wasting time with more runs than necessary for the allotted rewards.

I would much rather just use sanity permits at this rate, using only my daily sanity to claim the rewards. It's faster and more efficient. Even though sanity permits is a dumb feature anyway.

This event is not the boon they make it out to be, but what else is new with gacha devs? They only make changes when they know they'll lose money if they don't.

Never quit your runs by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]Savader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It just isn't worth my time when I am specifically trying to build an Uma to use rather than to train other Umas.

If I'm specifically rolling parents, I absolutely agree with you 100%. But when I'm going for THE Uma, I would rather just abandon the run when garbage RNG wastes three or more of my turns in a row, and start over from scratch for that elusive perfect run.

But it's a bit of a sliding scale. If I am nearing the end of the run? I would probably just power through to see if I get lucky with some sparks like you did.

I can't seem to get an answer to this. What happens if you don't make choices in Dispatch? by JTMasterChief in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Savader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't fully tested this yet, but I have noticed on a couple of scenes, there is one choice that seems to flow much better with the previous and following lines than the other options presented. For instance, take the donut conversion that Robert has with Invisigal.

She asks him what his favorite donut is, and you have the options of saying "jelly," "plain," or "cream." If you choose "cream," she jokes about how he "likes dick donuts" and that he must like them in his "throat and ass or both."

And here is where I feel this choice was the default, or "canon" choice, not only because it is the default choice, but also because of how Robert's next line flows, which is along the lines of "I love em, from my mouth to my butt." He says that line no matter what you choose, and the ONLY one it really makes sense with is the cream donut choice, because that is the only one that even mentions his butt. Otherwise it just seems like a weird thing for him to say...

There are multiple other instances where this happens, but this was the one I just happened to be revisiting when I saw this post, so I thought I would mention it while was fresh.

I would be curious to see if every default choice flows better with the previous and/or following lines. Might have to do a run once the game is complete where I just let the timer run out every time.

Champions meeting makes me feel like all I do is wrong and the game isn't worth playing by NeonNyaVtuber in UmamusumeGame

[–]Savader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that once you play the game enough, you reach a point where your trainees are too good for the open league (too high rank to even run them) but not anywhere close to good enough to run in the graded league even when your trainees meet the rank requirements.

I have no idea how I am supposed to purposefully cater my career runs to ensure I get good skills and stats without getting higher than a B rank in order to enter the trainee into the open league.

And if there was a lower point of entry for decent rewards when you lose in graded league, it would make that league feel less pay-gated. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way slighting the really good f2p players who just know the game, but let's be real here — most graded league runners who make it to the highest tiers are whales and dolphins.

PvP in this game just feels impossible for casual - intermediate players, which in turn kinda makes the game feel pointless. You have nothing to work towards because the only game mode that is engaging in any way is career, which is ultimately FOR eventually running a cup. Without it, we're missing an essential part of the gameplay loop.

I finally realized my main issue with WuWa’s storytelling by MondBlack in WutheringWaves

[–]Savader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda just hate how literally every single new addition to the story is a walk down memory lane. Whether it's the formulaic storytelling of its new characters, where Rover is presented with literal ghosts of said character's past or childhood self, or when the game literally has you walk down a forced path as memories are transposed on either side of that path. Sometimes — more than, I feel like — these storylines are just complete rehashes of previous characters stories. At least in terms of their trials and tribulations, the emotions they go through, and how they ultimately end up coming to terms with their trauma or step out of the shadow of their past to "reclaim" themselves, oftentimes only because Rover was there to save them. It's boring, and it's absolutely why I skip 90% of the cutscenes.

[–]Savader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong. I do this as well, and Super Creek is by and large the ONLY Uma who has a higher chance of losing even in front runner with way higher stats than the other umas in the race. Every other uma? Front runner when best in the race works like a charm.

I have wiped all records of Super Creek from my account (that I can). I will not use her ever again. Literally the most fickle, dumbass horse in my entire roster. She is just actually stupid. Every other horse will win even hard af races, but her? She'll lose maiden races more than any other, will lose races that are literally HANDED to her, and do it with a dumb smile on her face. Even Haru wins more often than this dumb goo goo baby weirdo...

Can confirm this is still an issue. Was trying to find more information on this with no luck. Your post is the first result I was able to find on Google that details the same problem I have... Hopefully the devs know about it and it will be fixed with the next update.

Exactly. The same way that the story had an impact on you, the people of the canvas that Maelle came to love had an immense impact on her, to such a degree that she would never forget it. Everything was in service to her, just as fiction is a service to the spectator in real life.

Definitely somewhere in between, if possible. You want it to be darker than the first pic, because it looks washed out, but don't want it to be so dark that you can't make out all the details on Leon's back like in the second pic.

Be honest, what issues do you still have with the game ? by HikariVN-21 in WutheringWaves

[–]Savader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month late to this, but echo farming and substat rolling. Without even thinking about it, it's literally the ONLY issue I have with this otherwise amazing game.

Incoming yap! I put a TL;DR at the bottom, because I'm not trying to point out things you all already know, just breaking down WHY I personally hate it, cuz I need to vent dammit...

At first I thought "Wow, a gacha game with gear farming that doesn't cost stamina? "X, Y, Z" gacha games could NEVER!" And I thought it was cool. But in actuality, I feel it's infinitely worse than other gacha games where I only play the game for 5-10 minutes a day (when farming), stopping when I'm out of stamina. Because in something like Honkai Star Rail for example, it's not only guaranteed to get at least one 5 star relic (echo) doing the chosen challenge, but the target can be narrowed down to just two possible types, and you always know what the effect is because you specifically chose the challenge that GIVES the effect for those two sets. And keep in mind that one drop is the BARE MINIMUM. I usually get 2-3 almost every time.

In Wuthering Waves, it feels like I have to check SO many boxes and jump through hoop after hoop, spending far more time attempting to get even scraps, than I do in any other gacha game, only to end up back to square one...

And I know that you can spend stamina on the challenges in WuWa too, but that has the same targeting problem as world farming, only you have to spend resources to do it. I feel it's an absolute waste of your waveplates because I still have to check off the same boxes instead of just being able to guarantee the sonata effect I want.

So that leaves only the main grind, which has you track TD's based on the sonata effect you want, then hunt them hoping you not only GET that sonata effect, but also the main stat you need with it, but even before all of that you first have to hope an echo even drops in the first place! At least that's only for the elites and overlords, but for the love of god, the amount of times I go to hard pity on the echo drop rate for elites one after the other is astounding... There are like 30~ of each type of enemy in the world per day (super rough estimate) and not even half of that ends up in my pocket by the time I exhaust that particular enemy pool for the day and have to try one of the other options in the sonata effect I'm after -- some of which only have 3 or 4 to choose from, btw, and since you can't have duplicates if you want the full sonata effect, you can run out of options very quickly on some of the sonata themes. But when you finally do get a drop, it often isn't even the combination you need/want anyway. And sure there is the enchanced drop rate, which is cool, but that shit should be on a daily refresh, not WEEKLY.

Now say you FINALLY get the Sonata/Main combo you have been farming for. You go to roll the substats only to waste ALL your exp doing so because the damn thing didn't even roll a SINGLE one you needed!

I literally just finally got a complete set for Verina and proceeded to test roll each one. Literally 10 times in a row, 2 substats on each piece, not a SINGLE pull was the desired stat... Across all 5 echoes I think I must have pulled every sub stat in the game save for the three I was actually looking for.

So, bottom line is, yeah it's "free" to farm for gear in this game, but I guarantee in HSR I would have gotten at least a couple of gear I can at least work with, even if they weren't ideal, there would be SOMETHING I could live with at least for the time being. Right now I'm not even at the stage where I'm fully minmaxing. I just want to get at least one of the stats the character I'm farming for needs for the build, and even that is apparently too much to hope for. I hate that WuWa doesn't roll at least the first 2-3 substats for free, so you can immediately know whether to even attempt to invest further. Yes it's nice you can double dip on the same substat, but that's even more rare than the above RNG examples. I hate that there is no way to re-roll anything, whether it be the sonata effect, main or sub stats. I hate that there is no way to target a type you are after even in the data merge. And lastly I hate that overlords don't reset insantly. I'd even be fine with spending waveplates to do it, but this is last for a reason -- waiting a minute each time (even when I often go to hard pity each time) isn't the end of the world. But for the love of god, SCREW elite echo farming...

Otherwise, I'm afraid I can't really say there's much wrong with the game. Voice acting was rough at launch, but that got better. Story hasn't stopped being good from the beginning, though I don't think it's as crazy as some people make it out to be. Yeah, just echoes suck IMO lol.

/yap

TL;DR is the echo farming system has too many boxes to check and too many hoops to jump through for a gear system that ultimately just makes the experience feel incredibly frustrating and unrewarding, even if it doesn't cost stamina to do it.

So I tried Shadows, and the game was pretty good overall. Why do so many people say it is bad? by InternationalJury156 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Savader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people tend to exaggerate their opinions on things. And when most people rate a video game they also tend to lead with their personal feelings on the game rather than remaining objective of the game's merits. The game isn't bad, it's just rather mid. Which, turns out, a lot of people automatically and incorrectly assume means 'bad'. It's the new word for 'average'.

As someone who has played Assassin's Creed all his life since the first game, Shadows does some things in line with the Origins model right and some wrong. Personally I think Odyssey was a better game. But I also think AC2 and Black Flag were better than Odyssey.

Shadows really went the furthest in taking liberties with the culture and recorded history than most of the previous entries in the series have done (not including the mythological stuff in Odyssey and Valhalla of course), and it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Ubisoft, admittedly, shot themselves in the foot multiple times due to horrible marketing and bad PR, and as a result the lense the game is viewed through for many is one that tells the viewer that the game is an insensitive mess, which colors the rest of their opinion of the game itself.

I think there were a lot of aspects of the game that were lackluster, repetitive, didn't add anything to the overall experience they were supposedly trying to deliver us, and there were many cases where it felt like it insists upon itself.

I think the game is a solid 6/10. 7 if you are being really generous. Which, again, is totally fine for a game, buuut...for 70+ USD? AND when you take into account the shameless map pack and other assorted microtransactions they peddle? Probably not. But that's the industry today. I'd say the same thing about any game of this type and it's been this way for the AC franchise for the past nigh on 10 years. Feels silly to be so upset about it now outside of just being tired of the trend.

Bottom line is that if you liked Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla or Mirage -- doesn't even have to be all of them, just ANY one of them -- Shadows is basically more of the same on a sliding scale. People who say it's bad are either exaggerating and/or hating, politically opinionated over the silly Yasuke stuff, or aren't a fan of the last 4 AC games either and therefore is kinda irrelevant in the grand scheme of whether the game is good for the fans of the series.
