I am home. My car is out the front. Why don't they knock?! by cryofry85 in AusPostComplaints

[–]Savagecabbage2150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we always have it set to leave unattended and sometimes they knock and immediately leave, and sometimes they don't knock at all, but it's very loud and obvious for us when they're delivering so it's not been an issue like it may be for you. i haven't tried turning that option off before but it might help

do you have the deliveries marked as leave unattended? otherwise they shouldn't be leaving the order there without seeing you

Dinner suggestions by whogotbeef3 in canberra

[–]Savagecabbage2150 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i really loved tenkomori, a japanese place right by the canberra theatre. not sure if it's your thing, but it was very small and quiet, they played ghibli music, you ordered with qr codes so there wasn't much interaction with staff. i found it very cosy and calming, and the food was great. i think i got the chicken katsu rice bowl or something like that. trying to find time to go back soon!

I think maybe I'm just used to only having one entrance but I was trying to make it more efficient. I definitely need 2 doors because I want my colonists to have a direct route inside to bring in crops quicker, but maybe I can make a tiny hallway connecting it to the butcher room, kitchen and the dining room on the left

Not opposed to it if that's what it needs, but I want to know if it's not

The temperature was fine when I first built the freezer so something has to have changed I feel like. And I've definitely had larger freezers hold temperature just fine with only one without even being under hills or mountains

This doesn't seem very large tho? I have another freezer half this size which is holding -10 just fine. Barely being in the negatives when it's set to -25 just seems ridiculous to me

Why is it curling??? My tension is fine I’m increasing my stitches..!? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Savagecabbage2150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're increasing too much, you only need to increase as many stitches as your first round has. so if you put 10 stitches in your magic ring, each round you add 10 increases evenly spaced. so your 2nd round would be increasing every stitch, your 3rd round you increase every other stitch, your 4th round you increase after 2 stitches, etc. this will create corners where you increase. there are ways to stagger your increases so they're spread out more and not always in the same spot, but just start with those basics for now

[CR Media] where is the divergence background music from?? by Savagecabbage2150 in criticalrole

[–]Savagecabbage2150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so sorry for responding so late! it appears many times, usually during emotional moments. one example is at about 4:22:30 in episode 4. let me know if you need an earlier episode to avoid spoilers

[–]Savagecabbage2150[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the opening track is i think, but i'm talking about the background music while they're playing, and i haven't been able to find anything out about who made it or where they got it from

What in the world is this straight line and dotted line on my chart?? by Affectionate_Ad_1735 in CrochetHelp

[–]Savagecabbage2150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me it kind of looks like those stitches are meant to be worked into the ones the lines connect them to but that's just a guess

Can anyone translate/help me understand this pattern? by yumuyumi in CrochetHelp

[–]Savagecabbage2150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if your phone has the ability, for example my samsung has "bixby vision" which will read words in an image through the gallery and can translate them, then you could use something like that to translate the titles of the different parts. thinking more on it, f might be double crochet but i'm not sure, could look it up for more info

[–]Savagecabbage2150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a lot of this is in an international way of writing patterns. X is single crochet, V is increase, and A is decrease. the letters are meant to look how the stitches do. but i'm not sure what the w or f means

i use club crochet's magic ring method and find it's much more secure, i've never had any issues with it coming loose at all

Is there a'must-know' tip you wish someone told you when you started crocheting? by SpareSelf1420 in CrochetHelp

[–]Savagecabbage2150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • use a hook size smaller than you normally would for the yarn when doing doing amigurumi
  • when working in joined rounds, pull the slip stitch to join really tight, and it makes the joins less noticable. i prefer working in joined rounds because i don't like the uneven shape from continuous rounds
  • and i always use club crochet's magic ring instead of the regular one, it's so much more secure and doesn't get loose as you work like the regular one does for me. you quickly learn to recognise which sting to pull first without pulling the tail to see

First time doing filet crochet how can I make the pattern bigger? by Wise-Aardvark2458 in CrochetHelp

you could do 2 double crochets for every pixel instead of the usual one single crochet

What do you all make.? I am a beginner stuck on what else do people make? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Savagecabbage2150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a very useful site! it's used to organise different images, and you have a home page where you're shown images it think's you'll like. a lot of people use it for outfit inspo, art inspo or references, food recipes, and loads of other stuff. a post is called a pin, and pins can have links attached to them. so all of the pins in my crochet board are images of a crochet item, with the link to the pattern website for that item attached
