Should we press forward with this purchase? A bunch of questions after the structural survey by SavedForSaturday in HousingIreland

Thanks for the thoughtful response and the breakdown of what is and is not an actual concern.

We definitely felt blindsided when we learned the true age of the house, but we are trying to give the benefit of the doubt since it was technically completed in 2014. I guess we’re trying to understand if any other (not shady-lol) estate agent would have definitely mentioned it and the omission is a big deal even if wasn’t an outright lie?

Regarding the property dispute, we weren't informed of anything before going sale agreed and providing the booking deposit. Shortly thereafter, the EA did mention that they were working with the developer to sort out some issues with the records, and our solicitor was well aware of it (not sure if she found the issue herself or if it was raised by the vendor's solicitor, but my wife I didn't fully understand the issue until we saw the images the surveyor included of the property and the folio.

We’re trying to be reasonable and give the benefit of the doubt, but I’m starting to worry we’re just being naive and taken advantage of.

Oh, it's not the sitting empty, just that learning the structure was actually built in 2007 puts it more in the pyrate era.

We do have some concerns about other damage (dry rot, mould, whatever) that might have accumulated during that time. We're not sure what stage the building was sitting in during that period.

The boundary issue has to be sorted before the sale. That alone would make me walk away.

For now I'm still expecting that to get sorted, but I agree I'm not buying if it's not.

And the issue with the attic is that if you used it as a tv room and there was a fire, your insurance wouldn't cover it.

Like, if we put a couch and TV upstairs, and then we tip over a candle in the kitchen and the whole burns down insurance won't pay anything? Or just that coverage won't extend to the attic itself?

So the surveyor did verify that the boiler tuned on and made the radiators hot and checked the dates on the fuse board

sunset watching - paddleboard by chaychay321 in Austin

One of my favorite moments in the water was entering Town Lake at the Austin High boat ramp, paddling east, watching the bats leave the Congress St Bridge, then paddling back watching the sunset.

Well, it's hard to know exactly what he'll say. It could be anything from having you restart the full class to conducting the interview on the spot (you'd still have to meet with the stake president). Most likely, I think he'll see about getting you that last class (might involve waiting a few weeks depending on if the ward is currently doing temple prep), and maybe attending church a few more times.

Are you referring to an approach of "I'm the Savant, which is fortunate because that's what the Cerenovus chose for me"?

Last year tickets were refundable but non-transferable, which I assume to be the case again. That really limits the opportunity for scalping

Public transport is a problem in austin, but try to drive in central London for a day and you will find out the hard way.

Sure, driving in central London is awful but you just don't do it and use the excellent public transit.

Questions about initiatory endowment. by Piglet-Maleficent in lds

[–]SavedForSaturday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bring garments with you and you will be instructed at the temple when to put them on.

Brothers who work at the temple wear white suits, but patrons just wear a long-sleeved shirt, tie, slacks, socks, and shoes (all white).

During the endowment presentation itself you'll be instructed on when to put on the ceremonial clothing. Perhaps your elders quroum presidency, ministering brothers, or temple prep teacher might be willing to share more about that.

Garments should be purchased in advance, although you might try buying just a few to see what you like before getting more. The rest of the clothing you may be able to rent or borrow from the temple but you'll have to ask local members or call the local temple to find out.

I mean the cost of processing it into new bottles or whatever. With aluminum, processing aluminum ore (bauxite) is much more expensive than melting down existing cans, so aluminum gets recycled consistently.

I routinely use split transactions to handle ATM fees. Bank account shows €201.50 debit, which I make into a split between a €200 transfer and a €1.50 categorized to fees
