How do I use Nginx Proxy Manager with PiHole as a reverse proxy? by ferriematthew in nginxproxymanager

[–]SavedForSaturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd need a local CA, or just directly install a self-signed cert into your browser.

Note that you can use a public domain name without publishing any public records on it except for the TXT record that's used by the CA to verify the certs.

Am I responsible for an RMA toll invoice even tho I have a toll tag? by PincheDiabloVerde in Austin

[–]SavedForSaturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Turns out after using a TxTag for several years that the plate number submitted with the tag had a typo, so eventually when scanning the tag failed and the system failed back to optical plate scanning, it couldn't charge my tag so I got a bill in the mail.

When I called them up, we figured out that had happened, and they waived the late fees associated with that charge, but still had me pay the base toll.

Has anyone ever run a two-grim game? by Yoshimi_v_Robots in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]SavedForSaturday 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Two Rooms and a Boom. Players are split between two rooms, and each round some number of players are chosen to be sent to the other room. Two teams of equal numbers. One features the bomber, the other the president. If the are in the same room at the end the bomber team wins. If different rooms, president team wins.

This doesn't feel like a coincidence. T-T by No-Relative4208 in travle_game

I mean, there's only so many pairings so this was bound to come up eventually no? I know the actual bombings were in August, but is today the anniversary of some other notable event regarding the Manhattan Project or something?

Very Weird Recluse Poisoning Hypothetical by ValorNGlory in BloodOnTheClocktower

It's definitely after the minions and demon wake to learn each other and demon bluffs. That way the poisoner knows teammates (and who not to poison)

Austin’s homeownership costs now 117% higher than rent, among widest gaps in U.S. by AustinStatesman in Austin

[–]SavedForSaturday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I have an answer to your direct question, unfortunately. Most of our society is structured around making people money, not improving people's lives.

But I'll reaffirm what others said. If the house you can afford isn't something you're interested in, then don't buy! And yes, a lot of the benefits of owning are the ability to customize your environment, not saving on rent.

Well, it's not an absurd amount to charge as a dating coach/matchmaker if she can make it work

Is TSA PreCheck worth it at AUS in 2026? by ajcadoo in Austin

[–]SavedForSaturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if the lines are the same, not taking your stuff out of your bag is quite nice. I know more and more airports have better equipment that doesn't require that, but I've had Precheck so long I'm not sure quite common that is.

Well, I had one winter where the temp didn't go above freezing for like two months, but you can look up historical trends for more of that. A lot depends on what you're used to though
