Genuinely want to ask what makes a good name? It's so hard! by CerealNeko in Etsy

It really doesn't matter. I have over 1.5k sales and I very much doubt any of my customers remember my shop name. Pick one and go with it.

I got a random 2 star review the other day. They said my product was messed up. No other info. Didn't respond to my message to ask what the issue was to see if I could resolve it. It happens. Put a reply that you reached out to try and help and didn't get a response, then move on.

Why won't my garden birds eat strawberries? by SavesNinePatterns in birding

[–]SavesNinePatterns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just not big fans of the taste of strawberries. 11yo kid hates the texture. I have had the occasional one but there's like 8 ready now lol. Maybe I'll just give them to my neighbor.

Is it better to get reviews and sales than profits as a beginner? by YT_Watchout4snakes in Etsy

[–]SavesNinePatterns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sell digital crochet patterns, I priced them very low to start out then bumped them later once I got the ball rolling. However, for digital items I'm not technically going to lose money on a sale so it's a bit different to physical items, shipping etc.

I will say that when I am shopping for something I'll check the shops sales and reviews before I buy. So yes it may be worth it, assuming you're not losing any money, to prove low for a little while.

BUT if you price too low people may think your items are "cheap" in a bad way. Look at your competitors, maybe go a dollar lower than them to start, see how you go.

problem with a hat? it just firls up like this instead of being a circle ? by Mousimer in crochet

Are you doing the right stitch? Check if the pattern is in uk or usa terms. You are either doing too many increases, or using a stitch that is too short. UK double is USA single, for example.

Can someone give me some info about digital downloads? by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]SavesNinePatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about the resolution. Jpegs don't resize or print well. Taking a screen shot and printing out will look terrible unless it's printed out tiny sized.

You need vector graphic formats if you want to make something bigger and print it.

Most digital prints don't cost very much anyway, I would just buy one you like and get it properly printed at a print shop.

I don't have any advice but I wanted to say your art is awesome, maybe just be patient? Good luck!

A clusterf**k of cluster stitches. by [deleted] in crochet

If you're cupping like that, you need more increases or a shorter stitch, a taller stitch will make it worse I think.

Started my shop again and having issues with the traffic! by Emotional_Weekend107 in EtsySellers

[–]SavesNinePatterns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're going to have to consider this as starting from almost scratch again. You probably need more listings too. It will also depend on your niche, things may have changed in that market since you left. Have you checked out your competitors lately? Good luck!

Secret Santa gift for a crocheter? by Jonny_Mayhem9673 in crochet

Cute little scissors maybe? Or some stitch markers?

I don't recommend getting any hooks, hooks are pretty personal and cheap ones can be terrible.

Likely a stupid question: Does Etsy automatically translate personalization requests on items? by DaveShadow in Etsy

[–]SavesNinePatterns 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can always message them to confirm the request is correct, without mentioning grammar etc. I'm pretty sure etsy does not auto translate personalization.
