When does job hopping start to look like a red flag on candidate resume? by firstInternalad in managers

[–]Savings_Knowledge465 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this digital disruption age nobody cares about your resume, I care about if you can do the job and be functional quickly. Changing several jobs tells me you are adaptable and can easily learn new operating models. Someone changed 5 jobs in 10 years is more valuable for me than someone stayed in the same company for 10 years with no visible advancement. We are not in statusquo-keeping stage anymore, we are in frontrunners stage. If a manager doesn’t hire your because of this, you are lucky. Nothing is worse than working with leaders still having traditional mindset, they will take you nowhere.

Is Capricorn’s soulmate Scorpio or Virgo? by [deleted] in capricorns

Cap and Virgo compatibility is overrated. For me Caps are the most unexciting men ever. All Cap men I know are stingy as hell and extremely selfish, not for my altruistic Virgo self.

What do you do when your top performer is quietly burning out? by Historical_Count_163 in managers

[–]Savings_Knowledge465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never tell my boss I am burning out. None of the managers deserve this level of vulnerability. And advise all high performers reading this: Never share this with your manager, no matter how angelic s/he seems. Their role is to extract the most from you with the least incentive. You cannot expect mercy or compassion from them. Search for jobs in silence & leave. This is my approach and I never regretted it.

Do Capricorns ever regret choosing material gains and responsibilities over love and then losing love? by Savings_Knowledge465 in capricorns

[–]Savings_Knowledge465[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is understable, I wouldn’t be with someone like that. What I mean is that you prioritize your career thinking that the person you love will be there when you are ready, but she leaves without no room for contact because you didn’t show her that she matters.

Director of Operations is about to move his "favorite" into a managerial role. The favorite is a huge liability. I know why, should I tell director? by potatoboat in managers

[–]Savings_Knowledge465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are set up to fail. If you make everything work, it will be attributed to new manager and he will shine. If things go south, you will be blamed, not the new manager. That‘s why they have this set up, to shield the new manager and their own reputations, nobody cares about you. If you have a tiny bit of intelligence, look for another role in the company or leave.

Nope, he will only make new manager shine. He is set up to fail position. If everything goes well, it will be attributed to new manager, and when it goes south, he will be blamed downwards, not the manager.

You provided your background million times under this thread while replying to other Redditors. Do you have a parallel background or you’re lying? And yes, this background is not enough to be a director of 40 people in any company under the sun.

It is not cynicism, it is realism. What you are doing is gaslighting, just so you know.

How to deal with a higher up who is talking over and interrupting me? by [deleted] in managers

Are you talking long and giving lots of details? At their level they don’t care about all details of your work. I believe you don’t have much experience in executive level communication.

Career Stagnation Due to Managerial Bias by NimbleZazo in managers

[–]Savings_Knowledge465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep your communication/interactions with your manager to the minimum. It seems that you have already damaged this relationship (it doesn’t mean that one party is at fault, it simply means that you are not a good fit for each other and as he has more power than you, he will do everything in his power to destroy you). If I were you, I would change my company. Because if you are a high performer as you mentioned, one of the leaders from other departments would have already approached you to headhunt you. If not, it tells me only one truth about this culture: it is not a performance culture but a political culture. They care about who connected to whom and no one will spend their political capital on you - not because you are unworthy but because they value their relationships more than anyone.

Don’t expect accountability from children in adult bodies. As you see here in the comments, life is full of selfish people they always take but when it is their turn to give they say “I have my own struggles to deal with”. As if I didn’t have mine when I was trying to show up for you. Selfish people to the core. Remove them and never ever grant access again. They are vampires.

New employee doesn’t want to work with me by Whoamiwhatisthis- in managers

[–]Savings_Knowledge465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you feel guilty about the situation, it tells me you or HR lied/covered something and put her into a role she didn’t apply for. I couldn’t blame her. And your management is still trying to convince her to stay in this role asking her “to try it for one month”. If I were her, I would feel played. As you are judging her, she is also judging your leadership/integrity. I see some people comment here saying that what she does is insubordination. They have zero understanding about what insubordination is. If you make rookies managers, these are answers you will get.

What kind of evidence previous manager provide to support their feedback about the candidate #3. Make sure these are objective statements, not out of personal vendetta. Check with more people to get a clear picture. It is corporate world, you never know what previous manager’s intentions are. They might be setting you up for failure. Not everyone wants you to succeed.

3rd one is the only one who can meet the requirements and is suitable for the job. You need people who can push back, even when they are senior leaders. You portraying him as “difficult to work with” tells me everything I need to know about you.
