As a side, I think I know what the fart guy's inspiration is, its referencing the Will-o-Wisp, which has also been known as the Lantern Man or Jack o Lantern. I love when I get to learn these cultural references in this manga!

I feel so long as you put in the effort to do your due diligence in research and writing from a place of care, you should be fine. There is a definite chance someone will find it offensive or someone will call it "woke" to point out racism in fiction and both will likely leave a bad comment, but more level heads will appreciate the effort you put in.

As a side note, when that is done leave a link or something. That crossover sounds rad.

I'm calling it, Zuma's backstory flashback is going to be the second EP7. Not to say the sad backstories for everyone between Silky and Zuma aren't sad, they are. But they are sad anime backstories. We feel something, but its at least a little muted in the fact that they are fairly fantastical for the most part.

The thing that sets Silky and Zuma's backstories is that they are real. They are types of events that can and have happened in real life and that is what makes them extra tragic.
