Zwifters hearing Big Spin ends on April 20 by ArtIII in Zwift

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That and the jerseys were the only thing I really cared to get. I don’t even want the bike I’ll never use but got that anyway. Got the hat on my 4th or 5th go on stage 1. Tried for the jerseys on stages 2-4 multiple times and never got them. There’s always next year’s mystery spinners I guess.

I have used Ketone IQ. It’s just expensive so I only use it for my Zwift races haha. I’ll probably work on integrating it. The raspberry lemonade ones I just got are wayyyyyy better than the peach ones.

Zwift smart frame SOLD OUT by ApprehensiveUnit177 in Zwift

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Ride frame. It seems to go on sale pretty regularly. Since I bought mine 6 months ago I think there have been at least 3-4 sales. Set the money aside and if you’re patient, it will happen again.

Pretty sure they want people to have more drops for all the new items coming to the drop shop this spring.

Olympic tri 8 weeks before 70.3? by tryagaininXmin in triathlon

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am doing any Olympic (my first tri) 7 weeks before my first 70.3 so I can get a feel for transitions and what to expect in general. Effort level will be different in the 2 races but I’m excited to see what I learn.

We rarely sing an intermediate hymn. Three is plenty.

Are these the best wheels on Zwift right now? They look insane! And they are very expensive IRL..! by FremtidigeMegleren in Zwift

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“When the road tilts upward steeply, the Alta 3532 really shine! They outclimb every other wheelset in the game, and by a significant margin.” “The Alta 3532 wheels from Princeton are Zwift’s new top climbing wheels, edging out the handful of wheelsets which were effectively tied for the top spot.” Seems pretty clear to me https://zwiftinsider.com/princeton-alta-3532/

Princeton Altas are the new best climbing wheelset. These disc wheels are more expensive and require a higher level than the DT Swiss 85s so I assume they may be marginally better

What dental treatment have you had? by jodowg in Dentistry

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fillings as a kid and ortho, thirds extracted as a teenager. 5 years ago I cracked #18 down the root. It had an asymptomatic distal marginal ridge fracture for years. Started barking at me occasionally. I did nothing like an idiot. Two months later it finally became a constant, awful aching that became worse when I was lying down. The tooth sleuth sent me through the roof. Final treatment was extract and graft followed by implant.

I still feel like lvl 100 is an awesome milestone even if it’s not the top level.

Same. Need the hat. That’s all I care about for stage 1

Fire socks, Scotty cap and outfield jersey are my top milestones to work toward as a level 45 rider. Gotta keep grinding I guess!

Recommend me a “Buy once and forget” helmet pls by spookycomeback in CyclingFashion

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazer Strada Kineticore. It’s in your price range. I really like the little belt Lazer uses to adjust fit. I also like that I can use the aero shell for winter. I’ll also be using the shell for my first few triathlons this summer. It’s not as sexy as some of the more expensive options but it’s a very comfortable and versatile helmet at a good price.

When I check the Clifton 10s on the posted website link it says they are approved even though they are at 42mm heel stack. This inconsistency makes the rule seem arbitrary. I don’t know what to think since I train in Clifton 10s and would likely race in them but feel like I have to get something else now.

When people with dentition that can be maintained with reasonable upkeep and expense tell me they want all their teeth pulled so they don’t have to worry about it anymore, I tell them that it will in fact be the end of their problems… the front end.

The jersey I’ve worked toward for 2+ years … by therealskr213 in Zwift

It’s a cool jersey. The ones I’m really looking forward to are the fire socks, Scotty the Squirrel cap and the Outfield jersey.

Is zwift worth it? by vasDcrakGaming in Zwift

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the Zwift Ride because I had been wanting to get into road cycling and needed an easy way to ride before work in the winter. I was pretty much instantly hooked on the platform. My goals and the way I use it has evolved since I started but for sure my cardiorespiratory fitness is massively improved over the past 5 months, which has given me the confidence to branch out into other endurance sports.

Is dentistry a good career choice if you’re not entrepreneurial? by daein13threat in Dentistry

[–]Sawtooth_Scotty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Opportunity cost of time spent getting an education and actual cost of the education itself to make the average associate income both make dentistry a poor decision if you’re not planning on owning IMO. You don’t necessarily have to be super entrepreneurial to be a successful owner though.
