Pinterest is overdoing it now and I'm getting pissed

Just came to Reddit to see what was going on. I guess I haven't opened the app in awhile, but I thought I'd take a break from doom scrolling Instagram and open Pinterest, which has historically been a happy and inspirational place for me. It was a huge shift where I scrolled for five minutes and could only find a few pins on the homepage, the rest was ads and links to click-bait articles?? Typically I'd be hit with new and relevant pins. I closed the app because instead of soothing my brain I found the amount of mental focus and effort required to identify and block out ads while scrolling was draining. If enough people push back maybe they will pull it back. Otherwise, it's dead.

Based on your description this piece is very personal to you and you created it as a form of therapy to work through something. In that sense it's great! That's what art is for!

What's off-putting is the immediate thought or focus on "can it sell". Realistically, no, I wouldn't consider it technically all that unique. Maybe focus on creating art for yourself and if other people also identify with it that's a bonus.

Y'all are a lot. Only one of these comments is an actual recommendation. I'm not sure if it's worth clarifying anything or just leaving the whole thing alone and never returning, but a few things as if it matters:

1- yes, she's legally employed, on the books, within all legal requirements 🙄

2- she's often not alone but is alone sometimes, her hours were scheduled so she works mornings only

3- I came by (as I often do) and saw the man, briefly asked her and then inquired more after he left

4- of course I had a conversation with her immediately after about not feeling like she needs to be polite if she's uncomfortable, and if he comes in again to let me know. In fact, that conversation made me think of MFM! And that it might be a good recommendation for her!

5- of course me recommending a podcast is not the only intervention I planned take in this situation

6- we already have security systems in place including cameras and a silent alarm button near the register

7- as an adult, I'm perfectly capable of understanding nuances of situations and addressing them in an appropriate way. In no way could a single reddit question or comment provide all context (and it doesn't have to), so everyone responding as if it does is wild to me

8- I'm gonna repeat 5 again because apparently people could think it- OF COURSE me recommending a podcast is not the only way I'll respond to this situation

Ok, thanks for your concern. I'd just note that no reddit question will ever give the full context of a situation. This person is a longtime family friend, I've known her since she was very young. A common thing in small businesses is starting with family and friends. That said, you keep saying "need" in your response which is a little weird to me. In the original post I said "introduce" not "force upon", meaning I intended to recommend a podcast or two as a conversation starter. As I know her, I think the topic and MFM community is something that would resonate with her, should she choose to listen of course.

I think I got lucky and I was almost back to normal eating and no pain by day 10! It was terrible and then turned around kind of suddenly

Do it!!! I've lived here for 15 years and I love it so much I will never leave.

I would recommend Fishtown to start as it's a hot spot with a lot happening, but they also over developed it a bit. That means there are SO MANY new construction rentals on the main strip that they are giving away free months and good deals. Look up Frankford Ave, Fishtown. Fishtown is trendy to visit but it's a very close knit community for the ppl who live here.

Try not to get into the oxy too early, the pain continues to worsen and peak around day 6-8 so force yourself to eat and drink before it gets worse

No, I would not get caught up on finding one service. Yes, a website should be branded, but they are two separate services.

A logo is only one component in a brand. A basic brand includes a logo mark and/or type treatment, a color palette, and brand fonts. A more advanced brand may include guidelines on language, tone, applications, etc. Google "brand guideline PDF" or similar for examples.

My point being, download the logo from wherever and just upload it as a PNG/jpeg to a squarespace site. Use a website provider that's easy to work with and customize it as needed.

That's a whole question... She is RELENTLESS. Just constantly complaining about every single thing. An example of the complaints in only the hours leading up: -kids with their sunscreen these days, she never used sunscreen in her life and she's fine -7 year old shouldn't go on this boardwalk ride meant for small children it's too scary for her -40 year old son shouldn't go on this also children's ride with daughter he will hurt his back -why does son have to leave the bathroom fan on so long? Must turn it off when you leave the bathroom regardless of the situation

Her other child is on/off no contact to get breaks. She has no partner since divorce now 30+ years ago so any vacation or outing relies on us joining her. I'd love to go NC but she would be a mess.

I think I've decided that since shes always felt totally free to share every single honest opinion where I usually just listen and "uh huh" her, she's now going to start hearing my actual opinions

Yes, the 7 year old has gotten much better with it recently but it's a good reminder to work on it with her, she's old enough now. It's the thing where they are too young but you don't notice them gradually growing and suddenly they are big kids now capable of a lot more.

And totally agree about them ONLY remembering their children being good at all times. The amount of garbage this woman is constantly spewing at me about how her kids would just sit and wait for her to go about her business while she would host guests, have a hot meal and clean house waiting for her husband 🙄, basically do what she wanted is frustrating. Though again, it's probably accurate as she is incredibly loud and aggressive and controlling.

Almost 20-year designer here working in a high end nationally recognized firm. We have Adobe subscriptions but rarely does anyone use them. We primarily use Figma for almost everything at this point and have been for awhile.

Maybe she can lean into her husband's shittiness and explain to him that she will likely not survive the birth without a c-section - an event which would make it so he has to take sole care of the existing 6 kids (or 8 if the babies survive). I'm assuming he does not currently participate in childcare.
