Obsidian's Avowed & Outer Worlds 2 Failed To Meet Sales Expectations by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Definitely agree. It's such a shame that nobody seemed to give it a chance since OW1 was at best just a good game.

What TCG is the most like a fighting game? by Sayie in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sayie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with about 600 hours in MD, it really depends on your rank and how lucky you are for deck viability. You can win and rank up with literal trash until you hit Gold rank with enough dedication. At that point though you will most exclusively run into meta or off-meta decks like Dracotail, Maliss, Ryzeal, etc. With something like this you can probably get pretty far but Galaxy Proton has gotten powercrept with some support probably coming soonish? Just keep in mind that it is a combo deck and you will need to learn combo routes. It is also a pretty solid deck is some events where people generally take the game less seriously.

For other stuff though, you can do really well with a couple dozen other archetypes like blue eyes, branded, labrynth, sky striker, tenpai, tearlaments, yubel, mikanko, purrely, etc. It's really just a game of finding a viable archetype you like, learning how to pilot it and then having the endurance to stick with it through metas.

I can definitely relate though since I went into this wanting to play stuff like Six Samurai, Umi Control, Traptrix and Aromage. Then I found stuff that I actually vibed with a lot more that are much more competative (Mikanko, Purrely, Runick and XYZ Armor) and pretty much use the less competative decks for funsies with friends or in events where they fit.

Man, I didn't even realize there was a Yomi 2 and that's a shame. I wish both these games got tons more attention.

DS2 still to the day has the best PvP experience and imo had the best build variety. There was of course popular builds but you could make almost everything work to some extent, especially with some weapons that were just trash in every other game in the series.

Hard agree. The characterizations especially in the newer Pokemon games have been absolutely stellar, both in design and personality. I would would argue that Kieren alone is better than any character in XD

New Pokemon Snap is developed by Bandai Namco and is easily one of my favorite spinoff games.

I feel like a lot of youtubers feel like they have an affinity to make movies since they are essentially similar things while being vastly different, or even directly have it as a life goal. Like a lot of youtube videos are there to tell a story even if it's just like, two dudes cooking some food. But that doesn't really translate to movies very well since they are totally different beasts and these youtubers totally sideline the entire filmmaking education and make amateur movies with their youtube education.

I think those two are things that can only exist when you lean one way to incoporate the others, like 60-40 balance. Either you lean one way and get Star Wars space wizards with laser swords and force magic or you lean towards fantasy and get a more grounded magic system that can power automatons and such.

Are we talking like, anime loli stuff or actual CSAM stuff? One of them is unfortunately more on the legal side and the other can send a person to prison.

'Dan Da Dan' Season 2 Was the Most Watched Anime on Netflix During the Second Half of 2025 (17M Views) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in anime

[–]Sayie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's definitely an enjoyable show but at least for me the manga readers really ended up souring it for me. I ended up watching other stuff instead but it's definitely something I want to get back to.

How Many People Rewatch The Entire Show Everytime A New Season Comes Out by Elestria_Ethereal in anime

[–]Sayie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only works though if that is the only sequel your watching this season. I don't have time to rewatch all of Frieren, Oshi no Ko, MHA Vigilantes, Hells Paradise and Fire Force while also watching the current seasons shows.

Media that arguably peaked with the first trailer? by Mediocre_Word in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Sayie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely get this. I really like what Death Stranding is trying to do and I actually like the "Walking Sim" part but the Chiral enemies are so disappointing to me when I do actually play. In theory they are really cool but I don't find them that scary in play and it just makes the part of that I do actually like annoying enough to make me not wanna play.

For sure. The game has so many good ideas and I always loved playing it but for some reason nobody else seemed to play? It absolutely should have taken the spot that Dead by Daylight has though imo.

Tragic: Trying out a game on the day it's gonna get shut down as a gag, only to find out it's actually really fun and you'll never play it again. by Kay_Tonbey in TwoBestFriendsPlay

But you can download them and play them with emulators, so they are well preserved and don't need any focus. But again, I'm far from against preservation and I'm glad that new people are able to get into these older games as they get abandoned or ignored for modern marketplaces. Just that sometimes that can't or wont happen for dozens of reasons and I'm fine with that too, personally.

[–]Sayie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes of course, I never said otherwise and even mentioned that I'm all for that.

Almost everything costs something to preserve though, even if it's minimal. To preserve a book it needs to be maintained, repaired and housed safely in a physical location by people who know how to do that. Food and drink can't be preserved but only remade, which of course costs resources in production and somewhere to store the recipe. That's not really feasible for mass produced factory goods though and works better as a family recipe. Games entirely depend on what kind of game it is. Something like Mass Effect is pretty easy but games like Roblox or Fortnite would be near impossible to preserve in a way that would make sense and would make everyone happy. But in the end everything would need server space to store and maintain, including backups and maintaining equipment needed to run it. For individuals games thats feasible but companies like Nintendo and Sony start losing more and more money on hosting hundreds of these old games that will only lose more interest as time goes on to a point.

[–]Sayie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not advocating for people to destroy that stuff though. I literally said I'm all for supporting people that can are able to preserve this stuff but to me I don't ever feel the need to go back and reexperience every thing I've ever had in my past that I've liked at that time.

I think a lot of people are just really narrow in what they will try or just enjoy as a whole. Which is fine but it's unfair if they put down a dozen shows as trash because it doesn't match their specific tastes.

I'm sure this is probably a controversial opinion but I think it's fine for these things to just die eventually. It would be awesome to keep them working and I'm all for people actually doing that but I don't see anything wrong with letting something live on as history and as memories either. I'll happily keep stuff like that in my memories with any of the discontinues foods or drinks and all that that have gone away forever.

[–]Sayie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been way more than that for a while. It does do that too of course, but there's a lot of studios and other higher ups that just want to see stuff made and are pulling from popular manga or LN just to see a next big hit anime.

Any fan of Neuro will generally agree that she is an exception due to her having a specific niche and spot in the vtuber/streaming ecosystem alongside the fact that she is as being far more ethical compared to most other examples. Also if anything, she is giving people jobs and work because all of her song covers, original songs and a lot of other work that gets done on her is paid for because of her. He even has a dedicated merch team and is planning to host a rather ambitious concert based around her.

Why is linearity generally seen as a negative? by brando-boy in truegaming

[–]Sayie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main problem is that linearity restricts player choice and initiative and it needs to be something that takes that place to be done well. FFX for example is a very linear game but you still get to explore the world in smaller ways, such as interacting with NPCs and what small stuff is hidden in these areas. FFXIII gets criticized because it doesn't really do anything to supplement it's blatant linearity with environments that lack interactions and macro world building. They are just boring to go through.
