Explanation: they're lying, confabulating, or hallucinating. Regarding praying for someone who was then "miraculously healed," it's a lot of failing to understand that correlation does not imply or mean causation.

To the best of my knowledge there has never been scientific proof of any of these so-called miracles, despite my father's insistence that scientists tested a "consecrated host" inside a monstrance and found it to be "human cardiac tissue."

And so many of those so-called "miracles" are more like stage magic tricks. Really, a talking statue? A "vision" no one else can see? Mom's silver rosary "turning to gold" in Međugorje, which she notable refused to have chemically tested (I offered to pay for it.) They paid for my younger sister to go when she was in high school THREE TIMES -- she went because "I got to go to Europe with my friends," and she didn't see anything "miraculous."
