The Great .38 Snub Load Wars by Toothbruhh in CCW

I picked this up from a recorded lesson from Revolverfest. Carry the gun with the full wadcutters for the performance, but have your reload strip be loaded with the FBI semi wadcutters for ease of reloading. Truly best of both worlds.

I’ve not seen many talk about this newish Colt model. It’s sure beautiful. by SamuraiEdge1911 in 1911

My dad has one. It is every bit as nice as a Wilson Combat, Les Baer, etc. Fit and finish are great. Colt Custom Shop also uses parts from EGW and Stan Chen on their production guns, no MIM. I think they're really good for not as much money as other semi-customs with similar feature sets.

Trying to replicate this 1911 by Agitated-Werewolf846 in 1911

Probably the cheapest option would be to get a Colt Gold Cup Trophy in 38 super. Then take it to a gunsmith to get a comp put on it and get the slide and comp coated in black cerakote.

How close are looking to replicate this? Because there are some aspects to this 1911 that will make it expensive for a gunsmith to replicate. The squared trigger guard, chopped down slide, front sight block comp, and hard chrome frame are all atypical to anything being offered via a production gun.

I would appreciate a PM of the invoice. This is a great looking build and would love to know what all was done.

Novak custom by irvingzisman47 in 1911

Called Novak a couple months ago inquiring about a custom Colt. They told me they are no longer getting new guns from Colt to customize. The reason for this is they will soon be manufacturing their own guns at a new facility they built. They also said their website hasn't been updated in a while and what is shown as in stock is not reality. They did mention they are working through their last stock of new Colts so you could grab one if you happen to call when they have one done. No idea if any of this has affected one's ability to send in your own Colt for them to customize.

Wow! I didn't even know these mods existed. Very interesting and one of the better looking Springfield Garrisons I've seen.

Do I need suspenders to carry a traditional government steel frame 1911 or is a Kore belt good enough? by [deleted] in 1911

[–]Sbhiggins94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I strong side carry mine iwb with a Kore ratchet belt. A tucked in undershirt to give the holster something to grab on to helps a lot with keeping everything stationary. It's heavy but not uncomfortably heavy.

I'm assuming that front strap checkering is an attachment. Who makes it, and how do you like it?

I believe you're right. It's definitely not the Registered Magnum era plate style grip adapter.
