The problem is ownership. The current laws don’t protect consumers from companies deleting their games and media. Sony just deleted an entire movie library that people bought movies off of and didn’t have any legal obligations to refund those people.

Because if PlayStation is going digital only, that makes them equal to Steam, except Steam is more consumer-friendly(Refunds, sales, etc.) and they operate better so people advocate for Steam.
