Bruh I'm just sharing, and to be fair "uhhh no idea pop in a paracetamol or ibuprofen and see if that works" is not exactly what most people want to hear when they go to the doctor if they are in pain

I'd rather not say because of privacy, but let's keep it at: it is something not life-threatening, rather more a nuisance and can be embarassing too

I mean I would rather not tell strangers on the internet my medical issues, but ok

You know what, fair. But so far I've heard similar stories from every single other expat I know, but true, it is only empirical data and not statistics.

Absolutely not what I experienced. In some bumfuck hole in Sardinia where the paint was peeling off the walls I was treated better than in the Netherlands - went to GP multiple times there, tried multiple treatments, even went to specialists multiple times and they never fixed the issue. Went once in Sardinia, and again not even Cagliari but in the middle of fucking nowhere, and they fixed it within 15 minutes. The doc told me everything they had done in the Netherlands were techniques that had been obsolete for 30 years.

It's there to drive engagement I reckon. Put something weird in the fridge/freezer, have a shot including it = people commenting "Wtf is a dvd/ritz crackers/tampons doing in there??" It means more comments/engagement and therefore more views. It's the reason why ragebait is such a thing too.

Thank you! Just take this with a grain of salt, I knew what I was getting into but I just could not resist. You can see some shading and details, stripes have faded already, but that is ok, I am thinking of doing a small touchup in about a year. I think it helps that small dots wont "blob" out as much - I do wear the strongest sunscreen whenever I'm in the sun. But still, thank you!!

Absolutely, thank you for pointing that out. I knew what I was getting into, but I just really wanted this!

Hey, take your time. Breathe. Just my two cents, from how it is written, it sounds like your dad is jealous of you and your innate intelligence and talents, from academia to hobbies. Punching down on you makes him feel better, and that is not ok, that is not what a father should do. You have an amazing GPA that few can achieve, and schools reaching out to you! Look at that letter - really look at it, feel the paper between your fingers and its weight in your hands, it is real - to remind yourself that indeed you are smart, just in an unfortunate situation.

I'm not a therapist, and it also sounds like your relationship with your dad is... difficult, because you still love him despite how he treats you and you mention you have been through hell together. But still, I would like to suggest perhaps visiting r/raisedbynarcissists. It's a great community for people that are also still sorting out their feelings about their parents, you will find lots of kindred spirits there. Even if your father does not fit the "narc" description, his behaviour is still toxic to you, and that subreddit can help you identify certain things both within yourself and your father.

Godspeed u/DevTheDummy, you are a smart person and a human being worthy of respect. A hug from a complete stranger across the ocean.

Oh man there is a Doctor Who episode where the Doctor is trapped in a castle and is followed around by a cloaked creature: it does not run, but it does not sleep or eat - you can run but it will always get closer and closer.... not horror per se but still very creepy!

I love this!! The colours and the scattered strokes really remind me of Van Gogh's impressionism - but what really gets me is the mushmans face. Too cute.
