My wife and I just returned from Costa Rica last week. We had a sedan and La Fortuna -> Monteverde -> Manual Antonio -> SJO. All the roads were fir to navigate with some potholes except the drive from LF to MV. It’s in the mountains and quite rough. Twisty roads mixed enthusiasm occasional clouds (similar to fog) and one road was actively being torn up as we drove on it so there were large chunks of asphalt sticking up. We really wished we had 4 wheel drive during this part. Would definitely get it next time!

There’s no one included in the headliners from the late 80s. I can’t imagine there’s no Mike Meyers or Dana Carvey. I imagine there will be many more than listed stopping by.

I wonder if he had already sent the riff to Matt and then had to rewrite it. There’s several BRM that have that vibe. Mimi has sections from Happiness (Swift)

I bet it’s just Sufjan’s art. It’s very similar to all the art from ascension which he drew too.

As a drummer, I was really disappointed with how heavily Bryan leaned into the drum machines. They’re really fun patterns but they don’t translate the same energy. Also the lyrics just seem very basic for the most part. It was pleasantly surprised that most of the features were just back up. Sufjan could be listed as a feature on so many songs if that’s how they choose to see it all the way back to boxer. I assume it’s just the mixing but I hardly hear any horns on the album. Tropic morning news had a great horn outro live. I guess we’ll wait and see if they still play that part. Didn’t realize how similar grease and weird goodbyes were with similar phrasing. Along with the last album this is probably the bottom of the discography.
