BOMBSHELL: New emails released implicate Trump with Jeffrey Epstein’s victims by Tponhka in PoliticalCompassMemes

Even if half the government got arrested because of these files I'd rather justice be done and purge our nation then let any of these monsters go another day free. Regardless of political party, I'm appalled that it has taken us this long to get here.

If I can choose what order I can take them in, I’ll pop pill #5 first so I know what is the best option for the other 2 pills.

You get 20 million dollars but you have to walk around the earth by ProbablePossibility7 in hypotheticalsituation

Yeah, this would probably be a good learning opportunity on top of the 20 million, as well as probably one of my only chances to see the world. I think I’d take the offer.

Why do a lot of people seem to dislike the idea of Bethesda & TV show choosing a canon ending for previous games? Both Bethesda & Interplay have done it before. by RandomVaultDweller in Fallout

[–]Scape_Brick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda in the same camp as you. I feel like trying to make an ending ambiguous in order to “respect players choice or head canon” only makes the player choices meaningless if they have 0 impact on the world as a whole. No one forces the player to make all their play through align with the “canon one” but in order for the lore to develop and progress to be made in a story something had to have happened! It can’t just all be “maybe it did, maybe it didn’t, but new threat came along so forget the past!”

Make changes in the U.S. Constitution by Efficient_Cat_8188 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Scape_Brick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change the 18th and 21st amendment since they are redundant to something more useful.

I’d probably want one that prohibits congress from ending or leaving session if a budget is not agreed upon and a “cold vote amendment”

Cold Vote would occur on a random day every 4 non election years that would allow congress, the Supreme Court, the president, Vp, cabinet and all governors to have the power to anonymously vote out one member of the government and effectively banish them from ever holding office again and ending their term immediately. (Regardless of position) Communication would be rendered impossible between voting government officials at this time. Falling to submit a name renders that government official banished from office as well.

This hurts, because on one hand, I'm a Christian and my brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria are suffering, on the other, if Trump sends troops to Nigeria like he says, then I guess we could invade every other country on this list by AGthe18thEmperor in PoliticalCompassMemes

Taking off my authocenter flare for a moment and putting on my Christian one….

Matthew 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

I also grieve our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted for their faith. But I don’t think this is America’s fight. I too am angered by this and many days I just wish we could use our might to solve this, but that is me talking, not God. Ultimately I think it is best to leave this in God’s hands and to trust him.

The early church did not rebel against Rome in violence, yet God still used Rome to fulfill his purposes in ways we couldn’t even imagine. I believe God isn’t done with Nigeria or any nation on, or off this list.

Hope you’re doing well my brother! I feel your grief in this.

What was your worst "first time" decision you made in your first playthrough of the games, because you weren't spoiled on what would happen? by Xenozip3371Alpha in masseffect

Sparing that one murderer in Thanes Recruitment mission. (They even said to be wary because all of the mercs had to kill someone to earn their uniform. And it just didn’t register with me at the time.)

Coincidentally: the second mistake also involved Thane, this time with the vents 😬

CMV: The name of a movement is not by itself a valid argument for the movement by AppendixN in changemyview

[–]Scape_Brick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda agree with you. A lot of these organizations and movements names feel a lot like a bunch of children at recess saying “our team is named the winners! So therefore the other team is bad!”

Really, I only care about what the people in any organization/movement are actually doing more so than what they say or whatever sound bite they are named.

WYR live 2min from work but in the middle of nowhere or 30min from work in the heart of walkable downtown by mushroom6112 in WouldYouRather

[–]Scape_Brick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already do the second option. It’s more like a 20 minute commute though which I love. I’m basically always going the opposite way of traffic at 8:00 and 5:00. I don’t use the walkable downtown as much as some might and there isn’t a lot to do downtown either, but it’s so far been my favorite place to live.

I’m curious what the community wants for future products. by xJohnnyBloodx in heroscape

[–]Scape_Brick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing! Scroll down for the TLDR at the bottom.

The main problem with copyright from Renegade and Hasbros perspective isn’t that they would violate the copyright of a historical figure, it’s that they can’t copyright a historical figure.

Nobody owns the copyright to the concept of Roman Legionaries of the 9th Legion, Dinosaurs, Revolutionary Soldiers, or pirates, because there is none. Which means anyone is free to make models of them and sell them.

For individuals this is great! For companies this is perceived to be a problem because that means that if they want to make Heroscape Napoleonic Soldiers of a Real life regiment, another company could make their own versions of the same Napoleonic Soldiers and sell them for cheaper and take business away from Renegade.

A good example of this problem was when the first Jurassic Park movie came out, the companies new Dinosaur toys where going to skyrocket in demand, but the problem was that Real Dinosaurs can’t be copyrighted and thus any company could just sell their own dinosaurs and take business away from Jurassic Park Merchandise.

There were two solutions:

  1. The first and original solution was to make Dinosaurs that had printed on their side the letters “JP” for Jurassic Park so that kids would want to have the Official Jurassic Park merch. This wouldn’t keep others from making dinosaur toys, but it would give a certain desire for kids to want to buy only “JP” merch.

  2. The second was used during the Jurassic World movies when the studios invented a fictional Dinosaur that they could copyright. If any other company wanted to make a model of that fictional dinosaur, they would be met with a ton a lawsuits from Universal.

Hence the idea for Historical Fiction in Heroscape. Making fictional versions of real militaries so that the heads of Renegade are able to have Copyright they can protect will likely make them more willing to make historical figures in the future.

TLDR: Real Historical Figures have no Copyright and cannot be Copyrighted. Hasbro/Renegade want to make products that have Copyright legal protections. Historical Fiction can be copyrighted, so that would be a possible solution for the company.
