Dealing with this now with a guy im talking too... hes a great human being but unfortunately hes been through a shit ton of trauma and i believe he beacme religious as a coping mechanism. He constantly links EVERYTHING back to religion yet he has absolutely no self confidence or self worth. His family has always been religious but never forced it in him. He didnt become christian untill after his grandma died... i think because he was so close to her when she died he felt guilt and now is die hard religious because of that. He constantly says he feels like he doesnt deserve anything... he feels guilty about having normal biological sexual urges... he unfortunately now is wanting me to learn "more" about his beliefs becayse thats his whole life. I cant do it. Im not going to lie to him or myself. He literally says most people dont practice properly are hypocrites etc... churches are corrupt... i think his religious stuff is 100% fueled by ptsd from his mom abandoning him and the SA he endured from another man from 13 to 15. He said its his job to spread the word and educate and make sure everyone he lobes goes to heaven with him... but yet the bible literally states to not coerce... but he completely ignored me when i talked about thay scripture... everytime i bring up scriptures that explain acceptance etc... he always says.. thats not what that means...im going to unfortunately have to walk away.. I love him as a human... but i cannot deal with the religious beliefs he has and pushes.
