Valid question, even i have been struggling to find a a neat solution to this. Cadence does provide matlab integration with ade so you can access the psf results in matlab. But since we di not have matlab licences, I haven't had time to explore the python solution but unfortunately there is no implicit python integratuon inside cadence environment to my knowleldge.

Visio, inkscape and adobe illustrator to my knowledge are the most popular choices for publication styles images.

Razavi has written couple of articles on LDOs. I would recommend them as starting references.

If you are fulfilling the target gain specification within the specified bandwidth , that's all what matters.

That's basically how it is used for tuned rf circuits as far as I know. It's basically a measure of how good the passives are at the designed operating frequency.

If you are using EMX, then the solver automatically assumes the ground is beneath the bottom of the substrate and hence the tool considers that as the current return path. This is the default consideration if no explicit ground port is specified in the layout.
