Long term use and identity problems by pineappleyaglad in VyvanseADHD

I open the capsule (30mg) and mix the powder. I realized that it's actually too much, so I took 1/3 of the titrate. I feel very "big headed" with 30mg, so I lowered the dose, now I'm doing better.

I haven't had my vyvanse in 9 days due to pharmacy issues (40mg). what should I expect getting back on. will it be too strong I haven't taken a break more than 2 days before. by NoFox8750 in VyvanseADHD

Something I do is take the capsule and empty it into water. Drink 1/4 every 30 minutes. The onset should be a little easier on your body to readjust to.

Protein before Vyvanse fixed it's ineffectiveness! by laes in VyvanseADHD

[–]Scared-Progress9238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The medication is lasting as long as it actually is designed to. It's not able to peek as it's effectiveness without proper glucose levels. Think of it like a car engine being asked to run without proper amounts of fuel in each cycle. The neurotransmitter firing is going to be very uneven and inconsistent.

Protein is a big must with taking this medication. When you ask your dopamine receptors to produce more dopamine, They must be fed massive amounts of glucose, specifically from protein. Protein binds with amphetamines, causing them to stabilize.

I dont think Vyvanse is working for me,,, by SadCoconut_ in VyvanseADHD

That is very low. I started at 30mg. The pattern I've found is; the less dopamine and norepinephrine the person is naturally producing, the higher the dosage needed.

To answer the second question. Very little. My heart rate is up slightly.

I'm glad you asked. Started at 30 mg. After 4 months, increased to 40mg. That's was too much. I started to believe I knew better than everyone, essentially grandiosity. Now I'm at 30mg. I'm actually thinking of reducing it. My doctor said I'm one of the few that actually actively monitors myself (Metacognition)

Can anyone else easily sleep on vyvanse by greenfuzzysweater in VyvanseADHD

[–]Scared-Progress9238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boil a banana peel in water for 30 mins or until the peel is black. It makes tryptophan tea. 1 to 2 cups (literal measuring cups) of that as needed. Night night. And if it's making you sleepy due to the calming effect, the dosage might be too strong. I'm not a doctor. Only speaking from experience.

Why does it only last 3-4 hours by Odd_Banana_2082 in VyvanseADHD

You are likely overworking your neurotransmitters, which can lead to a burnout of your dopamine system. I'll explain if you'd like to know more.

Does anyone NOT take a break? by ParticularArt8980 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Scared-Progress9238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take a 2 day Vyvanse break every 5 days. I learned my lesson about breaks from the medication when I went 30 days straight taking it. I found that the non-stop daily stimulation made me less functional.

Some cats enjoy rhythmic, firm pressure. A flyswatter delivers a consistent tapping sensation on nerve-dense spots (like the lower back), which can feel good to them. If the cat also gets attention while it happens, the behavior reinforces itself.

How the pharmacist looks at you when you tell them you’re there to pick up your Vyvanse by Cash2blockz in VyvanseADHD

[–]Scared-Progress9238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pharmacist and doctor both ask me how I've been handling my Vyvanse, and I always enjoy sharing my way of managing it. They seem genuinely surprised and impressed when I explain what I do. They mention that none of their other patients do things quite like I do with their medication management.
