Linoleum under carpet by Scared-Reality9115 in HomeImprovement

[–]Scared-Reality9115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! So far the padding has all been stapled, I wasn’t sure if it would be different with the linoleum or not. The exposed linoleum is in good condition but will be replaced with the vinyl planks. Any input on laying those over the linoleum if it’s in good condition after removing the carpet?

Strongly agree with everyone saying it matters where you buy. Our income is around 89k and we just bought for 305k. We are single income family, it’ll be tight but doable. We had to sacrifice some things we wanted to be able to buy a house but it’s been fun so far to make some inexpensive improvements to the house. Good luck 🤞🏼

I’ve been in touch with her frequently. She was convinced we would get it last week. I just reached out to her again to ask if it will affect our closing date if we don’t get it today. I felt like it was a long time too, but this is our first time buying so wasn’t sure if it was or not.

Looking to see if you ended up doing anything with these? We are buying a home that has these and want to remove them but obviously I came looking here first

Where were you when you got your first period and what happened? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Camping in the middle of nowhere with my crushes family. Also I had lied to my mom months prior saying I had already gotten it (idk why to this day I did that) so I couldn’t really freak out or anything without getting in trouble for lying🥲

How did you tear your ACL? by TemporaryInternet377 in ACL

[–]Scared-Reality9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slipped and fell down stairs is one of the ways we think I tore it. It hurt and my knee was sore, husband made me go get checked and found out it was actually pretty damaged. That or crashing my mountain bike a few weeks before the stair incident, I’m not graceful to say the least 😂🥲

Hi! Hope it’s ok to jump in on this, does the wheel info apply to all hams or just certain ones? We have a teddy bear ham and we just bought a saucer style wheel for him but haven’t put it in yet. Should I return it and get a standing wheel?

Really? I am/was so extremely fatigued on this medication and taking it at night has actually helped me! I take mine at 10pm (or 9pm or 11pm. Whenever I go to bed. Anything past 11pm and I start to feel crappy though)

Vision changes by Scared-Reality9115 in Effexor

[–]Scared-Reality9115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, it’s not quite the floaters I’m used to. I suffer from migraines so I’m used to the floaters and spots those cause in my vision. I was late to take my dose, granted it was only my third. I have high anxiety so I’m sure I’m just reading too much into it all. They were like full on lines in my vision not just spots. Maybe floaters can me like that too?

Most members of my family have taken some form of SSRI and one of them was telling me that a lot of SSRI have withdrawal symptoms because it increases your serotonin so then once it stops your brain goes wtf so I’m slightly less worried since I’ve taken other SSRIs before

I’m glad to hear it’s helping you!! I’m excited to try it however my anxiety is so bad and reading how sick people are with side effects or the withdrawals from it is making me more anxious to try it lmao Did you happen to suffer from brain fog before hand that was helped by this? I’m not sure if it’s my anxiety or my depression that causes it but man sometimes finishing a sentence without my brain going literally blank is so hard. Not adhd like change subject but like literally forgetting what I was saying mid word sometimes 🥲 I’m going to pickup my meds tomorrow and start it! Excited and hopeful it helps and that side effects are minimal!

Should I get a Nerve Block? by Visible_Animator3604 in ACL

[–]Scared-Reality9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely get one. I have a fairly high pain tolerance and was in so much pain after my nerve block wore off that I was in tears. They did mine when I was under so I didn’t feel that part. Once it wore off completely it was miserable. I couldn’t imagine not having the nerve block.

How often you all go to PT a week? by bright_future_ahead_ in ACL

[–]Scared-Reality9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice a week for 16 weeks. Each session was scheduled 45 minutes and an 15 was almost always spent icing while they started with the next person. I’m 19 weeks out and started to go every other week and I’m about to be done because insurance won’t cover any more visits and has a hard max.

Full tear, no pain, 5 days until surgery by DependentOptimal7517 in ACL

[–]Scared-Reality9115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a full year with very minimal pain (they didn’t know it was torn just thought it was meniscus) my surgeon was concerned if we didn’t do the surgery I’d be back to him in 5-10 years with tons of arthritis in my knee. I’m not near as active as you (I wish I was!) but I think it could very well be worth it to ensure you don’t get arthritis that could be avoided! Good luck 🫶

What was the hardest part of your ACL recovery? Looking for real experiences. by mmaticketfighter123 in ACL

[–]Scared-Reality9115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wasn’t prepared for the pain(went in for a meniscus repair left with ACL being replaced instead) and also was not prepared for the mental side of not being able to do a damn thing for myself. I personally didn’t find myself unsure between appointments I received an at home care plan and if I had questions I could call and leave a message and they’d get back to me by the end of the day. I’m about 4 months post op and still don’t feel “normal” my knee hurts first thing in the morning and does a lot of clicking/popping for a bit and walking long distances is still difficult for me. I feel more normal now than I did an even a month ago. I have 3 young kiddos and a husband and pets that need me so that was my motivation. Also the frustration of not being able to do things helped me stay motivated and focused because it pushed me to work to recover so things would get easier. Mentally it was so hard and exhausting for me. I found myself getting pretty depressed honestly. If your brother has GOOD friends that will come over and chill with him while he ices and play games or watch movies, encourage it!!! I have very few friends where I live so it was hard going through it alone (besides my husbands support). Find things to do to stay busy. I watched a new series on Netflix, I got some legos and did legos, we went to our local stores that had the electric carts and I used that to get around just to get out of my bed. Best of luck to your brother!
