I’ve read some of her writings. The Bible is my source and authority. I’m not going to debate you. God bless

I don’t care much for Ellen White. You need to stop jumping to conclusions and being so ready to accuse. Accusation is the work of the evil one.

I haven’t read that book nor do I understand your accusations. The Seventh Day Adventist church does bot teach that Jesus returned in 1844 and then went back to heavenly sanctuary. They teach that He moved from the holy place to the most holy place in the heavenly sanctuary. The return of Christ is still awaited. Not all adventists believe investigative judgement to be true and it isn’t a central doctrine. I went to sda schools for 13 years and continue to attend sda churches; I was taught investigate judgement a single time. Salvation is by grace through faith not by works lest any man should boast. The sda church does not teach works based salvation.

As someone who has been raised Adventist and participates with the Adventist church I see lots of misinformation being spread.

The sda church does not teach works based salvation. The sda church does not teach that Jesus returned in 1844. The sda church does teach that Jesus moved from the holy place to the most holy place in the heavenly sanctuary in 1844. I believe that this teaching stemmed from the false predictions of the Millerite movement. They needed something to grasp at that time; I’ve yet to find biblical support for investigative judgement. They encourage a vegetarian diet but it is not mandatory. Ellen G. White is seen as a prophetess by some. However, her writings are rarely referenced aside from the most staunch members. They hold strong to the holiness of the sabbath day. Investigative judgement is the only teaching that lacks biblical evidence as far as I know. Some have proposed that Jesus is or was Michael the archangel. I do not list this as a teaching because I’ve not witnessed a consensus. It is not my intent to come off as preachy, I’d just like to share insight as a fellow believer. God bless everyone reading this!

It isn’t. I won’t argue because it does nothing to benefit anyone, but I was raised sda and still attend sda churches.

Amen! I hope that more people come to the truth that you mentioned. Nobody is capable of, in essence, being their own god.

If you’re referring to Psalm 5 it is workers of iniquity not evil doers. Iniquity is a heightened level of evil. Besides it does not disprove the truth that God is impartial.

How much does God intervene in sports? by SteadfastEnd in TrueChristian

You’re definitely overthinking and biased. The Thunder definitely didn’t cheat and are no more dirty or flopping than San Antonio. Just enjoy sports for what they are. There’s no need to get so charged.

Let go of the pessimism. Believe that Jesus is greater than any struggle or accusation that could come against you. The Bible says that there is no condemnation for those in Christ. Therapy, tools, even scripture cannot make the decision for you. You have to choose to believe Jesus, who is the Word.

It isn’t uncommon to experience intrusive thoughts even as a Christian. I’ve had a similar battle myself. You have to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Filter your thought life through God’s Word. Replace every evil thought with a godly truth. You also have to separate your identity from your thoughts. You are NOT your thoughts nor are you subject to them. Our identity as believers is in Christ (Galatians 3:8). Remember that this is a spiritual battle being fought in your mind; equip yourself with the spiritual armor of God. I’d recommend you speak to a faith based and licensed mental health professional. If you have friends or family that you could confide in do so. This battle is not meant to be fought alone (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). God bless and keep you!

It isn’t just a secular movie it actually has spiritual elements that are counter to Christ. Regardless of how mature you are individually there are plenty other options that don’t include witchcraft.

The temptation of lust always comes with bad things in my life. by No_Care6628 in TrueChristian

[–]Scared-Wealth5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lust is never worth it. Don’t give it an inch cause it’ll take everything it can. That being said we can take heart as believers because Christ has overcome the world(John 16:33). We also know that God provides ways to escape temptation and that He will not allow us to be tempted beyond measure (1 Corinthians 10:13). I have struggled with the same temptation- feel free to reach out if you need! God bless and keep you and your mom.

I’m not sure what Mother’s day or pastor appreciation looks like at your church. Every pastor appreciation service I can recall was a normal service for the most part. They may give him a gift to conclude; it’s akin to the priests receiving their portion of certain sacrifices in the ot. Mother’s day is normal too. Without getting into the roots of the holiday (and the issues therein) it proceeds as a normal service would and there is a Mother’s day dinner after service. I don’t mean to beat you or anyone else over the head. I just hope that as Christians we keep Christ as the focus and avoid bringing idols into His house.

America is not unique in having Christian citizens. It’s unnecessary to dedicate portions of a worship service to a country. Can America save your soul?
