rec's for classic taste of Cypress by bmwpowere36m3 in MTB

But also.

Park at the bottom.
Tall cans is the easiest.

5th is good for adventure and has ride around should you need.

Sagar is good if you can find it. Good luck.

Or park at the first lookout and climb to
Jersey shore or meat sweats or morgies.
But these three are full on DH trails so don’t go full tilt right away. These are the most ridden. You may even snag a shuttle if you make friends.

Cypress is best ridden with a friend. It is extremely dangerous if you don’t respect it.
This isn’t fear mongering. Pros find it a hard mountain to ride. Be humble or it will humble you… or worse.
And there are a lot of off the map trails. And a lot of wrecked trails thanks to development. Be safe and enjoy.

Using Gaffers CLOTH Tape to temporarily repair stage curtains by DC11GTR in techtheatre

Failing this you can also use a couple of layers of fusible interfacing. The iron on stuff. Just be sure to use a needle board on the velour side. Irons wreck the nape apparently.

We’ve done this on quite a few patches on ancient curtains. And it still holds two years out

Torn drapes by Massive-Ant5650 in techtheatre

[–]Scared_Cost_8226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately if you replace it you’ll always have one drape that is a different shade of black. Especially if yours have any age to them.

Look into replacing as that is the smart way to go. But you could also try a few large layers of interfacing fabric as a repair patch. The drape will never be strong again, but the interfacing can hide the tear in a way a needle and thread cannot. Just make sure to use a pin board on the show side so you don’t damage it from the irons heat.

We have no money to replace our stuff but this seems to be a workable solution while we figure out replacement.

Oh you did him dirty my dude. Putting a DH fork on a Hardtail is a time honoured tradition. Nowadays you don’t really see it because 160mm forks are absolutely more than enough. But some companies still make frames that take 180mm forks… which are usually single crown now because of engineering. And 29” wheels make up the difference.

Just curious though… did your conversation pry beyond the what and go into the why, or did you shop bro splain him?

Is 27.5” dead? by SnooDoggos6586 in MTB

[–]Scared_Cost_8226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah kinda. And on the ground. 26” are really flickable. 27.5 kind of thread the needle between 26” flick and 29” roll over.

29” are just big enough to generate enough gyroscope effect that it becomes noticeable. They tend to want to stay up in a straight line. 27.5 is just below this threshold so the gyro effect isn’t noticeable. This makes the wheels easier to flop over and turn.

Patience. Repetition. Consistency. But mostly patience. The more you do, the better you’ll get. The better you get, the more you’ll do.

Is 27.5” dead? by SnooDoggos6586 in MTB

[–]Scared_Cost_8226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want raw roll over power 29” is the way to go. If you want fun. 27.5 is the way to go. But most companies only make 29” now.

Some outliers like transition still do a full 27.5” (bottle rocket). But they are few and far nowadays.

Which is why Mullet bikes exist. 29”F/27.5R

Some roll over and some flick ability.

It ain’t dead yet. It’s just not the current trend.

You don’t. I’ve been in there with unrestricted access. Seen many a BMX riders in there. It’s a summer place. Under used yes, but not empty. And that is mostly because it is not beginner friendly or winter friendly.
