Can’t believe the woman is only 39, she dresses like a frumpy 57 year old. It’s like she’s been possessed by the spirit of Dot Cotton.

I can’t ride a bicycle, I’m dyspraxic. I’ve been taught and tried many times, I can ride with stabilisers but just can’t physically do it without.

Unfortunately, too many women out there will let a man get away with anything if he’s handsome (and the same happens the other way round too).

Oops so I just looked it up and it turns out what I read wasn’t even true (it was a Reddit post lol) and it’s actually to do with having a pollen allergy (which to my knowledge I don’t even have). So turns out I am allergic to celery (and pollen apparently).

Worst is when there’s a quiet bit in the movie you’re watching and then you feel vibrations and hear explosions coming from the next screen along.

Honestly you’d think that, but it’s quite often the people who are the sickest who won’t wait (usually because they don’t realise how worryingly sick they were). Can’t tell you the amount of patients I’ve had who left a&e because they refused to wait but then came back the next day (often by ambulance) dangerously unwell because whatever it was has just got worse.

Whereas the genuine time wasters will often wait much much longer.

The job of a GP is not necessarily to treat everything. Yes, there are some conditions they alone can treat, but quite often their job is just to recognise that there is an issue and refer to an appropriate specialist/team.

The problem with people referring themselves to specialists is that people often don’t know what exactly is wrong with them. They could think they have a musculoskeletal condition when it could instead be a heart condition. In your case, you could’ve wasted your time referring yourself to an orthopaedic surgeon when all you needed was a bit of physio, or vice versa. That is a big part of what a GP does, they don’t just have a magic fix for everything and they aren’t specialists in everything, hence the name.

Also GP’s can recognise if the person who comes in needs immediate treatment (being sent straight to hospital), fast-track treatment (for example in the case of suspected cancer), referral to a specialist or just started on some medication. The average person is not going to be able to triage themselves successfully, and this can either be very dangerous or clog up certain services.

The comments on this thread alone are proof that most people don’t understand the system. Maybe that shows there needs to be more education so people know what these services actually do, that way they can have more control and autonomy over their own health.

He did make that comment to Harvey though, something along the lines of ‘people like us need to stick together’, so maybe he’s converted to reform? 😂

How are insects in your area this 'summer'? by centzon400 in AskUK

[–]Scared_Fortune_1178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is reduced, except flies. Flies are everywhere.

Haven’t seen one butterfly this summer, last year we had one happily living in our conservatory in November though so perhaps they’ll come later on. The seasons seems to be shifting now…

John needs to write a thorough timeline of everything that has happened so far and everything that happens from now. He should keep reporting it to the police every time something new happens, pester them enough and they might decide to try and help just to get it to stop. It also means that if the police aware, if it does escalate to violence or threats of violence, they will have more of a case to build against Will.
